Throughout his 20-year career, Wanderlei Silva has given fight fans one highlight-reel knockout after another, dating back to his prime years competing for PRIDE FC.

And though he may have lost a step or two along the way, entertaining the fans is still priority number one for “The Axe Murderer,” which is why he recently took the opportunity to call out Kimbo Slice for an all-out striking battle under the Bellator MMA banner.

His words on The MMA Hour:

“One guy I would love to fight is Kimbo, and I don’t go to the ground. No. I want to fight in his area because the truth is, I want to make a good show, I want to give emotions to my fans. And when I can, I am going to do what I can do.”

After he was finally released from his ZUFFA contract earlier this year, Silva signed a contract with Bellator MMA. However, he won’t be eligible to compete until his suspension from Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) expires in 2017.

In the meantime, he will take his grappling talents overseas, as he will compete in an unprecedented tag team grappling match against fellow legend Kazushi Sakuraba under the RIZIN FF banner.

As for Kimbo, he will likely be served a lengthy suspension after testing positive for steroids after his dreadful fight against Dada 5000 earlier this year.
