Jessica Andrade captured her Strawweight title back in May, dispatching Rose Namajunas with a massive slam counter to a kimura attempt. Next up, “Bate Estaca” — which translates to pile driver — will head to enemy territory when she faces China’s Weili Zhang at UFC Fight Night 157 from Shenzhen, China.
The last couple years have been incredibly successful for Andrade, who dispatched three top-ranked opponents before earning her title shot. Despite some early adversity from Namajunas, Andrade was able to rally in a major way and capture the title. She will look for her fifth straight win opposite Zhang, who has proven herself one of the very best Strawweights in the world in a short-time inside the Octagon.
To help promote the bout — which will take place extremely early in the morning for Western audiences — UFC has collected the five best finishes from Andrade’s UFC career (shown in the video above). The Brazilian has a penchant for pretty violent finishes, which was particularly evident in her last pair of knockout wins that put her opponents down for good.
Not many 115 lbs. foes can stand up to that level of athleticism, but Zhang may just be able to. The Chinese athlete is well-rounded and quite physically talented herself, which should make her an interesting challenge for the latest Strawweight queen.
