Coach Khabib is just different.
Usman Nurmagomedov notched another Bellator Lightweight title defense in the main event last night (Sat., 7, 2024) when he scored a dominant yet dull unanimous decision win over Alexander Shabliy from inside Pechanga Arena in San Diego, Calif.
During the fourth round of the Lightweight title fight, Nurmagomedov finally landed his sneaky left high kick that wobbled Shabliy. Nurmagomedov then rushed Shabliy and got him in a front headlock, then transitioned to a guillotine choke. He let go of the choke, but his cousin and coach Khabib Nurmagomedov’s reaction stole the show.
Khabib freaked out when Usman went for the guillotine and started choking out the other cousin and current No. 1 Bantamweight contender, Umar Nurmagomedov.

Everyone assumed Khabib was trying to show Usman how to choke his opponent, but maybe choking his cousin is a stress reliever for the UFC Hall of Famer. No one really knows because no one asked.
Maybe the mystery will be solved in the coming days.
We do know that Khabib is a fantastic coach and has freaked out several times while coaching his fighters, so add this one to the list.
