Colby Covington is one of the most divisive figures in the mixed martial arts world, and he got there even before he started making his support of U.S. president Donald Trump a cornerstone of his troll routine. Covington often shows up in a red ‘Make America Great Again’ hat and now works Trump into his smacktalk, including him in a pretty low joke mocking brain damaged UFC legend Matt Hughes.
But that’s just the way MAGA folk roll, deal with it snowflakes! It doesn’t seem like the Trump family has any issues with Covington’s controversial shtick. Thus far they’ve gotten Colby a visit to the White House and several members of The Donald’s family sitting front row for his Newark fight with Robbie Lawler.
That’s right, Donald Jr. and Eric were on hand to witness Covington’s five round decision win, and after Eric called his dad and hooked the president up with the UFC fighter.

You don’t get to hear much of their actual conversation, just Colby pumping President Trump up.
”I feel amazing but I would never want to fight you, Mr. President,” Colby says. “I’ve seen you with bricks of hands in the oval office, man. You hit me one time, I’m going to sleep. I ain’t messing with you.”
”President Trump is making our country great again and I’m making the UFC welterweight division great again,” Covington told UFC cameras after. “So let’s unify these belts in November at Madison Square Garden so it’s right down the street from the Trump family. I guaratee our president will come and watch this front row.”
No date has been set for a Colby Covington vs. Kamaru Usman title fight, but UFC president Dana White has said Covington is next and a lot of steam has been growing for the bout to land on the November 2nd New York City card at Madison Square Garden.
