The celebrity boxing trend continues this weekend as powerlifting champion Thor Bjornsson, perhaps best known as “The Mountain” on Game of Thrones, will step into the ring against arm wrestling champion Devon Larratt, who replaces strongman Eddie Hall for this Sat. night’s (Sept. 18) titanic tilt in Dubai.
Watch them face off in the video above (skip to 1:20 if you don’t care about the weights).
Bjornsson, 32, weighed in at 322 pounds against 273 pounds for the 46 year-old Larratt. Their super-sized showdown headlines Core Sports “Fight Night 3,” and I shamefully admit that I missed the promotion’s first two “Fight Night” events and can’t tell you much about them.
“Thor vs. Larratt” streams for $9.99 at the promotion’s official website.
Their non-exhibition bout consists of six, three-minute rounds wearing 12oz gloves under the 10-point MUST system. Three minutes is a long time for the “Titanweight Division” and if a knockout is gonna happen, it’s likely to happen early.
MMAmania.com will have full results and complete coverage of Core Sports “Fight Night 3” on Sat. night, including live play-by-play updates of “Thor vs. Larratt.”
See you then!
