Volkan Oezdemir rose through the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) ranks pretty quickly thanks to his knack of putting away his opponents just as fast. Case in point, Volkan knocked out Misha Cirkunov in a mere 28 seconds (see it).
To prove it wasn’t a fluke, “No Time” lived up to his moniker in his following bout two months later against Jimi Manuwa, taking it to “Poster Boy” from the jump, ultimately sleeping the British banger in under a minute at UFC 214.
That winning performance was good enough to earn UFC’s “Knockout of the Week.”
Volkan will look to get back on the winning track after coming up short against Daniel Cormier earlier this year as he is set to take on Anthony Smith in the headlining bout of UFC Fight Night 138 on October 27, 2018 on Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada.
Getting a quick knockout can go either way, though, as “Lionheart” is as tough as they come and can end fights quickly too, just like he did by defeating Rashad Evans and Mauricio Rua in 53 and 89 seconds, respectively.
