UFC bantamweight Irwin Rivera was arrested Thursday, on two counts of attempted murder, after reportedly attacking his sisters while they were staying with the fighter at his Florida home. Following the incident, the women took to Facebook to deliver a message of support to their brother.

Reports of UFC bantamweight Irwin Rivera’s arrest have been extremely troubling. The Sanford MMA fighter and former Titan FC champion was detained by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday, January 7th and charged with two counts of attempted murder after allegedly attacking attacking his sisters with a knife while they were staying with him at his home in Boynton Beach, FL.

“I killed my sisters,” Rivera is reported to have told officers when arrested, adding that he had been commanded to do so by a higher power.

Despite suffering gruesome injuries in the attack, including collapsed lungs, and multiple stab wounds, Rivera’s sisters took to Facebook to post a message in strong support of their brother. The message explains that the women traveled to Florida to check up on Rivera, after hearing that he had been acting erratically.
