Hell no! He won’t go!

Longtime UFC veteran Clay Guida, who turned 43 just a few days back, was submitted by streaking lightweight sensation Chase Hooper as part of the UFC 310 fight card last weekend in Las Vegas. The loss marked the third straight for Guida and his twenty-fifth overall, with 12 of those defeats coming by way of submission.

Not surprisingly, UFC CEO Dana White wants “The Carpenter” to retire.

“The kid’s got some skills!” Guida wrote on social media. “Congratulations to you and your camp [Chase Hooper]. What a performance!!! You have a bright future young man!!! Thanks to everyone in the GUIDA MAFIA that came to Vegas to support us and the rest of the athletes!!! We truly have the best fans in the World!!! We will be back!!!”

When and where remains to be seen.

Guida (38-25) was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame back in 2019 for his epic “Fight of the Night” car crash opposite fellow 155-pound legend Diego Sanchez. That $50,000 performance bonus is just one of 10 post-fight honors awarded to “The Carpenter” in his storied UFC career, which started at UFC 64 all the way back in 2006.

“Appreciate the opportunity to share the cage with you!” Hooper replied. “Wishing all the best for you and your family! Always been a fan of yours and always will be.”
