“WEC 48: Aldo vs. Faber” sets WEC records with 14,144 attendance and $1 million gate

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Former WEC champion Urijah Faber fell short in his
quest to dethrone surging champion Jose Aldo at Saturday night’s “WEC 48: Aldo
vs. Faber” event, but “The California Kid” helped deliver another
successful live gate in his home town of Sacramento, Calif.

According to UFC and WEC president Dana White, the event, informally
known as WEC 48, drew 14,144 fans to ARCO Arena, a figure that netted a
gate of $1 million.

If the numbers hold true when verified later this week by the California
State Athletic Commission, each figure is a new WEC record.
