After a brutal three-round battle at this past Sunday’s WEC 49 event,
lightweight headliners Jamie Varner and Kamal Shalorus have each been
suspended indefinitely due to potential broken appendages.
Edmonton Combative Sports Commission Director Pat Reid today emailed the
list of WEC 49 medical suspensions to MMAjunkie.com.
Varner and Shalorus stood toe-to-toe for 15 minutes, and a point
deduction issued for an illegal blow left the bout as a hotly contested
split draw.
