The Nevada State Athletic Commission handed out the medical suspensions for this past Thursday’s WEC 52 event, suspending a total of nine fighters.
Facing the longest suspensions were main-event fighter Urijah Faber, Javier Vazquez, Raphael Assuncao, CLint Godfrey, and Yves Jabouin who all received up to six month suspensions barring clearance from a physician.
WEC 52: Faber vs. Mizugaki took place on Nov. 11th at The Pearl at the Palms Casino and Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada with the main card airing live on the Versus Network.
The full list of WEC 52 medical suspensions are as follows:
Urijah Faber suspended until 5/11/11 unless his left shoulder is cleared by an ortho.
Takeya Mizugaki suspended until 12/27/10 with no contact until 12/12/10.
Javier Vazquez must have nasal and facial bones x-rayed, if positive he must be cleared by a doctor and no contest until 5/11/11. Otherwise, Vazquez is suspended until 12/27/10 with no contact until 12/12/10.
Francisco Rivera suspended until 12/27/10 with no contact until 12/12/10 following a knockout.
Raphael Assuncao must have right foot x-rayed and cleared by an ortho or no contest until 5/11/11.
Edward Faaloloto suspended until 12/12/10 with no contact until 12/3/10 due to left eyebrow laceration.
Zack Micklewright suspended until 12/27/10 with no contact until 12/12/10.
Clint Godfrey suspended until 5/11/11 unless cleared by an ortho due to left elbow injury.
Yves Jabouin must have left thumb x-rayed and cleared by an ortho or no contest until 5/11/11.
