Chris Weidman’s light heavyweight stint lasted all of one fight.

After just one fight at light heavyweight, Chris Weidman has announced he is dropping back down to 185 pounds.

Weidman (14-5) is currently on a two-fight losing streak. A third-round KO loss to Jacare Souza prompted his move up to 205-pounds, but he was finished by Dominick Reyes inside two minutes in his light heavyweight debut. With only one win in his last six fights, Weidman has not shown the form he once had when he was the UFC middleweight champion.

“The All American” announced his move back to middleweight on a recent Instagram post.

“I’ve been through the highest of highs and the lowest of lows in my fight career. I really love what I do, and I believe I still have some great moments ahead of me! Can’t wait to shut up all the haters!” Weidman wrote. “To all the people that have supported me through the ups and the downs, I appreciate it more than you know. I am more motivated than ever and I know the future is bright. Hopefully getting a fight booked around April back in the MW division!”

Weidman won the UFC middleweight title back in 2013 when he provided a huge upset KO against Anderson Silva. The 35-year-old defended his belt three times before losing it to Luke Rockhold at UFC 194.
