MacDonald vs Lima 2 | Bellator MMA
Bellator MMA has set the date, the time and location to crown its Welterweight Grand Prix tournament champion, according to MMAFighting.com. And as fate would have it, the bout will be a rematch of the fight that crowned Rory MacDonald a Bellator champion. “The Red King” will once again lock horns with Douglas Lima (31-7) at Bellator 231, which will take place at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., on Oct. 26, 2019, with MacDonald’s 170-pound world title also on the line.
Lima’s ascent to a rematch came through impressive performances where he submitted rival Andrey Koreshkov then knocked out the previously undefeated Michael Page to clinch his bracket position. MacDonald’s path included a tepid draw against Jon Fitch followed by a unanimous decision win over the previously unbeaten Neiman Gracie.
At this early date no other fights have been revealed, but the announcement is expected to come during Bellator 225 on Saturday night.
