Fabricio Werdum and Alexander Gustafsson faced off in a Heavyweight bout tonight (Sat., July 25, 2020) at UFC on ESPN 14 from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Werdum landed a hard low kick to start the fight. Gustafsson showed the body jab, but Werdum dug low twice more. Gustafsson found a home for his right, but Werdum attacked a single leg takedown. The Brazilian pulled Gustafsson into a half guard and immediately snuck out the back door! Gustafsson tried to stand up, but Werdum drug him back down and jumped on the armbar. Werdum rolled his way into top position while still on the arm. Werdum extended the arm and forced the tap!
WOW! Werdum finished his UFC career in style, showing up in better shape and punting his opponent’s lead leg. Then, he completely sold out on his grappling, and it paid off with a beautiful armbar!
Result: Fabricio Werdum defeats Alexander Gustafsson via first-round armbar
