There was a time in the not-too-distant past when former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum referred to former PRIDE FC titleholder Fedor Emelianenko as the greatest 265-pound fighter of all time.

And he wasn’t the only one.

But “Vai Cavalo” is now trashing “The Last Emperor” because Bellator MMA is currently searching for a qualified opponent ahead of the Russian’s upcoming return fight in Moscow, which is expected to take place in October.

“Give me your boy, I will finish him one more time,” Werdum wrote on Twitter. “If Fedor [is] the GOAT, do you need revenge from me? Hey I’m ready to go to Russia. Fedor was never the GOAT because I killed the GOAT. Scott Coker, let’s go.”

Werdum submitted Emelianenko under the Strikeforce banner in June 2010.

I guess now is a good time to mention that Werdum, 43, already had an opportunity to rematch Emelianenko for Bellator MMA, but didn’t want to face the bus-hogging diva in his very first fight with the promotion (read those comments here).

Instead, the Brazilian — under the guidance of manager Ali Abdelaziz — signed with PFL in hopes of capturing the promotion’s 2021 title, along with a cool $1 million payout. Werdum will end up with neither, thanks to a “No Contest” and a swollen brain.

Bellator MMA President Scott Coker has yet to respond to Werdum’s tweets, though it’s hard to imagine Werdum has cornered the market when fellow UFC exports Alistair Overeem and Junior dos Santos are also looking for their shot at “The Last Emperor.”
