Zane Simon, Connor Ruebusch and Phil Mackenzie are back once again watching the best of the worst of the MMA world. Mostly focusing on PRIDE, the UFC, Strikeforce, and the WEC.
Another rare weekend without a UFC event means another rare chance to revisit the dusty corners of MMA history. This week we’re looking at three former Pride stars who, among their successes in the UFC, had some pretty miserable performances as well. Whether it was the lack of a ring to corner people in, a lack of motivation after a hard loss, or just the ever-present ravages of age and time, not every fight can go down as a thriller.
To that end we opened this week’s show with Shogun Rua’s recent draw against Paul Craig. Followed that up with Rampage Jackson’s loss to Ryan Bader. And finished the whole thing off with Mirko CroCop’s disastrous first UFC run, stopped cold by a grinding defeat to Cheick Kongo.
As always, we’re watching each of these fights over on Fight Pass. If you’d like to watch along with us, just start each video when Zane says ‘Go’. If you don’t have Fight Pass, but still want to watch along, Connor will try to announce the beginning of Round 1, so videos can be synced from there.
