Conor McGregor will fight in 2025.

That’s according to UFC CEO Dana White, who is using his prediction that “Notorious” would not compete in 2024 as proof that he can predict the future. I’m sure it also helps that White runs the world’s preeminent combat sports promotion and remains in direct contact with “Notorious” about his fighting future.

I dunno, just spitballing here.

“He’s fighting with everybody right now, but he’s not fighting anybody right now,” White told Outta Pocket with RGIII. “You know, I’ve said this a lot and Conor has gotten into a position where he’s made so much money and he has all these businesses that continue to make him a lot of money. It’s tough to get up and fight when you’re in the position that he’s in.”

It’s also tough to get up and fight with a broken pinky toe.

“But I do believe that Conor McGregor will fight in ‘25,” White continued. “There is no fight made or a date set or any of that. But I believe. If you watch what I was saying in ‘24, I was saying I don’t think he’s gonna fight in ‘24 and I do believe he will fight in ‘25.”

Now he just needs to agree on one of many opponents.

It’s hard to get excited about the possibility of McGregor’s return in 2025 based on what we’ve seen in recent years. Aside from the fact that “Notorious” has not competed since breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier in summer 2021, the former UFC double champ is just 1-3 at lightweight and has been finished in all three losses.

I guess that doesn’t matter for the purposes of this deal.
