DETROIT – In his final years of collegiate wrestling, former NCAA Division I national champion Phil Davis worked less on learning new things and more on perfecting what he already knew.
MMA’s been nothing like that, and admittedly, Davis takes a beating nearly everyday of training in his quest to grow as a fighter.
So as a UFC 123 main-card meeting with a “205-pound Korean Zombie” looms, Davis isn’t worried so much about his undefeated record and a potential title shot as he is building his foundation of MMA skills.
