More thirsty lies? Let’s hope not!

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White is working on bringing Nate Diaz back to mixed martial arts (MMA), and may have a lightweight fight on tap that will be entertaining enough for even the most discerning combat sports fan.

No, it’s not Tony Ferguson.

“We’re working on a Nate Diaz fight right now,” White told Oscar Willis. “It’s not Tony, but if we get it done, I think you’re gonna like it. Lightweight. It would put him in a really good position if he won the fight and the guy who he could potentially be fighting, I think it’s a great fight for him too.”

Let’s hope it’s Justin Gaethje.

Diaz (20-12), who turns 36 in April, has not seen the lightweight division since putting the hurt on Michael Johnson at UFC on FOX 17 back in Dec. 2015. But during his most recent run at 170 pounds, the Stockton slapper has faced nothing but former lightweights.

As of this writing, Diaz remains unranked after getting booted by Khamzat Chimaev.
