Jorge Masvidal is expected to rematch Nate Diaz in a welterweight battle at some point in either late 2020 or early 2021 and according to UFC President Dana White, the “BMF” belt will be up for grabs the second time around.

“(Masvidal) wants to defend it against Diaz,” White told MMA Junkie after confirming the rematch. “They were the first two to fight for it. You know what I mean? They were the guys that fought for it. He wants to put it up versus Nate again.”

Masvidal defeated Diaz last November after busting up the Stockton slapper across three rounds of action. Afterward, WWE legend and Hollywood action hero “The Rock” entered the cage to award “Gamebred” the “BMF” strap.

Following their first meeting at UFC 244, Masvidal (35-14) went on to challenge Kamaru Usman for the 170-pound strap at UFC 251 last July, but came up empty after five rounds of foot stomps. Diaz (20-12), meanwhile, opted to ride the pine and smoke fattys.
