The UFC president is pretty confident he can set up interim welterweight champion Colby Covington to meet with Donald Trump.

In Saturday night’s UFC 225 co-main event, Colby Covington took a hard-fought unanimous decision over Rafael dos Anjos to become the interim welterweight champion, which theoretically means he should be facing current champ Tyron Woodley later this year.

The vocal and often controversial Covington has expressed his unabashed support of President Donald Trump, going as far as to say both pre-fight and post-fight that he would bring the belt to the White House and put it on Trump’s desk. Now that he has the interim title, which he pretty much views as the real belt, will he ever be able to follow through on his plans? With the help of UFC president Dana White, perhaps he can.

“He wants to take the (belt to the White House)? Yeah, I can make that happen,” White said at the UFC 225 post-fight press conference.

White is a longtime Trump supporter, and even was invited to speak at the 2016 Republican National Convention to officially endorse him. He considers him as “loyal and supportive friend” who’s always reached out to him when something major has happened to him in his career. White says he’s never gotten slack for backing Trump, and he doesn’t care if others have dissenting views.

“Listen, I don’t care what your politics are. You can like whoever you want to like. If (Covington) likes Trump, he likes Trump. If somebody doesn’t like Trump, they don’t like Trump. I have a lot of friends that don’t like Trump, but I don’t ever talk to them about that. (Dana White Contender Series commentator Snoop Dogg) hates Trump, badly, and Snoop and I just never talk about that ever.” (via MMAjunkie)

For what it’s worth, Donald Trump Jr. congratulated Covington on his win, so that’s a start.
