UFC president Dana White talks about a possible rematch between Amanda Nunes and Cris Cyborg.
After experiencing her first loss in 13 years at the hands of Amanda Nunes at UFC 232 last December, Cris Cyborg bounced back strong on Saturday at UFC 240 against Felicia Spencer. The former women’s featherweight champion notched her 21st career with via unanimous decision verdict.
Right after her win, Cyborg expressed her intent to face Nunes in a rematch. She was even seen walking around backstage wearing a t-shirt campaigning for the fight for January of the coming year.

When asked what he thinks of this pairing during, UFC president had this to say.
“I like it. I love it. That’s the fight to make, that’s the fight I want to make,” White told reporters during the UFC 240 post-fight press conference. “So we’ll see what we can do.”
Cyborg’s fight against Spencer was the last on her UFC contract, and in June, she was already exploring the idea of free agency. White, however, is hoping for a renewal, especially with the possible rematch against “The Lioness.”
“I hope so. If that’s true, it that’s the fight she wants and she really wants that fight, I don’t see how we don’t make a deal,” White said. “If you look at my history in 20 years, how many deals have I not made for a fight? I think it’s been like one. There’s one I didn’t make.
“We never got the Russian… Fedor. I was trying to do that Fedor-Brock (Lesnar) fight. That’s the fight I didn’t make.”
With the win over Spencer, Cyborg improves to a record of 21-2 (with 1 NC and 17 wins by knockout).
