Kayla Harrison can turn that frown upside down.

A potential super fight against former American Top Team (ATT) training partner and one of the best female fighters to ever compete in mixed martial arts (MMA), Amanda Nunes, may still be on the table for the Olympic gold medalist, who made her Octagon debut with a submission victory over Holly Holm at UFC 300 back in April.

That’s according to UFC CEO Dana White.

“I love Amanda Nunes,” White told Club Shay Shay. “We have an incredible relationship. She could come back. It’s a possiblity she could come back. She’s a very unique individual in her own right, very powerful woman that is looked at as the GOAT of female fighting now. She’s married to another female fighter, she’s very inspiring to the gay and lesbian community. She blazed her own trail in the UFC.”

Nunes, 36, retired in June 2023 after suffering nerve damage in her leg.

Raquel Pennington, who was crushed by Nunes at UFC 224 back in early 2018, is currently the women’s bantamweight champion, with former titleholder Julianna Pena and top contender Ketlen Vieira, ranked No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, nipping at her heels.

Harrison is currently ranked No. 4 at 135 pounds.
