UFC president Dana White isn’t surprised a lot of fighters are trying to copy Conor McGregor’s brash mouth and flamboyant ways to try and achieve stardom in MMA.

Despite being the first ever UFC fighter to hold two world titles in different weight classes simultaneously, it could be argued McGregor will be more renowned for his pre-fight talk, and the aura the Irishman brings with him wherever he goes.

Talking to Hashtag Sports earlier this week, White admitted it’s not surprising other fighters are ‘acting’ like McGregor due to the success it brought him.

“It happens,” White said. “When you see a guy who’s as successful as he is and he’s fun, I mean you see the guy’s fun and everything else, and you start thinking ‘well maybe if I act like this, I’ll have what he has’.” (Transcription via MMA Fighting)

While it’s clear some fighters on the UFC roster have tried to emulate the brash bravado of McGregor, no-one has really been able to draw in the same amount of attention and buzz the Irishman creates. White thinks no matter what the UFC will never ‘find’ another Conor McGregor.

“There’s only one Conor McGregor,” White said. “People will always ask me ‘do you think you’ll ever find another Conor McGregor, are you trying to find another Conor McGregor?’

“There will never be another Conor McGregor, but there will be somebody else who’s different in their own way and will become a star in their own way.”
