LAS VEGAS – Not that Chael Sonnen isn’t focused on his next task at hand, but the UFC’s top middleweight contender would much prefer he gets through his Saturday fight, then have a few more still this year.
Sonnen, who on Saturday meets arch rival Anderson Silva for the middleweight title in the UFC 148 main event at MGM Grand Garden Arena, believes he and his fighting brethren should be averaging well more than the number of bouts per year that is their reality.
But part of the problem, he says, is that he doesn’t exactly have other fighters lining up to face him.
