With “Heavy Artillery” attendance of 8,136, Strikeforce likely to return to St. Louis

ST. LOUIS – After drawing 8,136 spectators for its second-ever St. Louis event, Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker said a third trip to the Gateway City is a real possibility.

“Strikeforce St. Louis: Heavy Artillery,” which took place Saturday at the Scottrade Center, followed up a June 2009 “Lawler vs. Shields” show that drew 8,867 in the same venue.

And for the second straight year, fans came early for the preliminary-card fights to support a host of local competitors. Why? As Coker told MMAjunkie.com, it’s due to the “Cung Le of St. Louis.”
