And that Floyd Mayweather Jr. is a rat.
Messy Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight champion Conor McGregor is back at the gym, a return that may have been prompted by the promotion’s decision to strip him of the 155-pound strap if he doesn’t compete by March.
I’m sure the timing with this gym return is purely coincidental.
Or, it could be something as simple as refuge from dirty diapers. UFC color commentator Joe Rogan believes “Notorious” isn’t ready to make his mixed martial arts (MMA) return just yet and will indeed vacate the title.
Paving the way for these two guys.
McGregor continues to fill his downtime by warring with former boxing rival Floyd Mayweather Jr., which doesn’t make much sense (barring a rematch). The power-punching Irishman was stopped by way of technical knockout last August and “Money” is retired.
In addition, there is unfinished business in UFC. Tony Ferguson wears the substitute strap and top contender Khabib Nurmagomedov — dog shit notwithstanding — is nipping at his heels.
Will the UFC lightweight division sort through this mess in 2018?
Fingers crossed.
