A women’s middleweight bout between Sarah “The Monster” D’Alelio (4-1) and Ronda ‘Rowdy’ Rousey (2-0) has been pushed back from the July 30 Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson event to the Aug. 12 Strikeforce Challengers 18 (aka Strikeforce Challengers: Gurgel vs. Duarte) card.
News of the change was posted by Strikeforce officials on Sunday via Twitter (@Strikeforce).
– The featherweight bout between @RondaRousey and @sarahdalelio has been moved to the main card of the August 12th card in Las Vegas
The Strikeforce Challengers 18 event will take place on Aug. 12 at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. The headliner for the event is a lightweight bout between Jorge Gurgel vs. Joe Duarte.
This will be ‘The Monster’ D’Alelio’s first bout of the year after a successful 2010 that saw her go 4-1. Her last bout was a decision loss to Julie Kedzie last December on one of the Jackson’s MMA Series events.
Rousey is a former Olympic Judo medalist, earning Bronze at the 2008 Beijing games for the United States. She made her pro debut this year, winning both bouts in under a minute with an armbar submission.
