Tonight, the role of “Gleek” will be played by welterweight contender Colby Covington.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) flyweight champion, Henry Cejudo, who also holds gold at 135 pounds, was never able to get his “Intergender Championship” idea off the ground, because it’s just as stupid as creating a “Legends League” for shopworn geezers, or manufacturing a fake title for fake gangsters who sport double-digit losses.
So with his “wacky” female fights going the way of the Pyrenean ibex, “Triple C” has enlisted the help of newly-recruited Cringe Comrade, Kelvin Gastelum. Together, this dynamic duo will take down the evil henchmen known as Conor Mcgregor and Floyd Mayweather, for reasons not quite understood.
“So here we are, team ‘Triple C’ and team ‘KG’, we’re out here taking over,” Cejudo said on Twitter. “Conor McGregor, Floyd Mayweather, all you wannabe kingpins, you guys can all do me a favor and bend the knee to Triple C and KG, too.”
If you’re thinking, “Cejudo clearly has too much time on his hands,” you’re not wrong. The two-division champ will be riding the pine for the remainder of 2019 after undergoing shoulder surgery, which has put both titles on hold for the immediate future.
That’s a bigger hit to the 135-pound contenders at this stage of the game, because promotion president, Dana White, has already ordered Cejudo to defend his strap against Joseph Benavidez in early 2020, a rematch from their 2016 affair.
