Former UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley will make his return to the Octagon against Vicente Luque at the upcoming UFC 260 pay-per-view (PPV) event, scheduled for Sat., March 27, 2021 in either Las Vegas or Abu Dhabi.
And he’ll do it as the +240 underdog.
That’s according to the number crunchers over at BetWay, which has Luque pegged as the -350 favorite. That’s not far from Woodley’s opening line against Colby Covington (+210) last September, a testament to how far “The Chosen One” has fallen.
You can argue the part-time rapper has only fought the best in the world, contributing to his three-fight losing streak, but he’s looked like complete garbage in all three losses. In addition, the 19-6-1 Woodley turns 39 in April, so he may be at the end of his run.
As for Luque, who holds a nearly identical record at 19-7-1, he’s won two straight and nine of his last 10, recently scoring back-to-back finishes over Niko Price and Randy Brown. The 29 year-old “Silent Assassin” is ranked two spots below Woodley at No. 9.
In the UFC 260 main event, Francis Ngannou gets another crack at reigning heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic. The UFC 260 co-headliner pits defending featherweight titleholder Alexander Volkanovski against top contender Brian Ortega.
