Blagoy Ivanov will defend his World Series of Fighting heavyweight championship this December at WSOF 35.

Ivanov will find out who he faces next month when Shawn Jordan meets Ashley Gooch at WSOF 33. The winner of that contest will challenge the 14-1 Ivanov for the title.

Along with that heavyweight bout, recently signed Jared Rosholt meets Caio Alencar in a key battle in the division.

“We are looking forward to bringing another action-packed night of world-class MMA action to the city of Everett, on the heels of what was one of our greatest fight cards to date, from top to bottom, and an arena packed with incredibly passionate fight fans,” said World Series of Fighting President Ray Sefo.

Ivanov, a Judo black belt, defeated Fedor Emelianenko in the 2008 World Sambo Championships. He was a semifinalist at the event and has since won five consecutive MMA fights, including a pair of title defenses.

Rosholt was released by the UFC and will be making his debut for WSOF. He is a former NCAA Div. I national wrestling championship runner-up while competing for Oklahoma State University.
