World Series of Fighting (WSOF) 32: “Moraes vs. Hill 2” comes to Xfinity Arena in Everett, Wash., on July 30, 2016, featuring a Bantamweight title rematch between division champion, Marlon Moraes, against top-ranked contender, Josh “The Gentleman” Hill.
Recently, a new match was added to the card after the withdrawal of Shamil Gamzatov from a match with Louis “Put The Guns Down” Taylor for undisclosed personal reasons. Stepping up to take the fight on short notice is WSOF prospect Phil Hawes, who made his promotional debut at WSOF 31: “Ivanov vs. Copeland,” scoring a first round technical knockout against Joshua Key in less than four minutes.
Taylor represents a huge step up in competition level for Hawes. The Strikeforce and Bellator veteran has a career 12-3 record, including his impressive WSOF debut in March, where he won by guillotine choke in only 29 seconds.
Hawes’ teammates at Jackson-Winklejohn have spoken of his “limitless potential” as a fighter, and in this short notice fight he’ll get his best chance yet on a main card to show off that potential.
In addition to Moraes vs. Hill and Hawes vs. Taylor, WSOF 32 will feature Alexandre “Capitao” Almeida, who will defend his newly-won Featherweight title against former champion Lance “The Party” Palmer, who trains out of the Urijah Faber-led Team Alpha Male camp.
