You saw Conor McGregor in the boxing ring in 2017 against Floyd Mayweather, but will Floyd go to the UFC in 2018? Place your bets!
Four months removed from his mega-fight with Conor McGregor, retired boxing great Floyd Mayweather Jr. has recently made headlines suggesting that he may one day compete in the UFC.
“I can come right back to the UFC,” Mayweather said. “If I want, I can go, I cancome right back to the UFC, I can go fight in the Octagon. I can do a three or four fight deal in the Octagon and make a billion dollars. Remember, I’m Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather, and you motherf**kers love me, and I love you motherf**kers.”
Longtime UFC analyst Joe Rogan recently said on his podcast that Mayweather actually did get in touch with White about a UFC deal. (Via MMA Mania)
“Dana told me that Floyd wants to make a deal in the UFC. Like legitimately. I texted him, I go ‘Is Floyd really talking about fighting MMA?’ He goes ‘Yeah, he’s f**king crazy. I told him he’d get killed. But he’s still talking about doing it.”
Well if the 40-year-old Mayweather really wants to channel his inner James Toney and get himself into the Octagon, you can actually place a bet on whether or not it will happen. Bovada actually released odds on Mayweather’s potential foray into the UFC, and as of Tuesday night, “Yes” is currently at +500, while “No” is at -900.
What a world we live in.
