Tony Ferguson may not be fighting Michael Chandler this weekend at UFC 262, but that didn’t stop him from flaming Chandler for sliding into a shot for the vacant UFC lightweight title so easily.

Ferguson has been toiling away since 2013 for an honest to God shot at non-interim gold, so we’re not surprised he’s sus of a dude who walked into his title opportunity off a single win in the UFC. His frustration boiled over at the UFC 262 pre-fight press conference (watch it here).

“He’s a f—king bitch,” Ferguson said. “He’s a f—king pussy. Sorry to interrupt … You dodged me too, Chandler. You’re a bitch. Every person out there except for [Oliveira].”

“You could have fought me January 23rd,” Chandler retorted.

“And you f—king said no, man,” Ferguson replied. “Be real, you got this s—t handed to you. You’ve got Dana White privilege.”

That comment drew huge laughs from the crowd, and an even bigger laugh from White who watched Ferguson’s antics with amusement.

“Thanks Dana,” Chandler said sarcastically.

“Dana was right, he said timing is everything,” Ferguson said. “Like I said, it wasn’t meant for me to have the title then. I would have given everyone a chance. F—king awesome. No, absolutely f—king not. These guys are gonna try to keep the title away from me as much as they can.”

It won’t be hard unless Ferguson turns around his fighting record. After going an insane 12-0 up to 2019, Ferguson suffered bad back to back losses to Justin Gaethje and Charles Oliveira in 2020.

“God never puts enough on our plate that we can’t handle,” Ferguson said when discussing his fall from lightweight supremacy. “Last year I put so much on my plate that he cleared me for this year and 2021 is going to be my bitch.”

If God’s got his back after giving him such a crappy 2020, Does that apply for all of us too? I suppose a bad year doesn’t involve long term brain damage due to fight trauma. Let’s hope Ferguson turns it around on Saturday when he faces Beneil Dariush

UFC 262 goes down on Saturday May 15th from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. For more information on this wild lightweight stacked event, click here.
