Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women’s bantamweight title contender Cat Zingano, who made a successful debut for Bellator MMA back in Sept. 2020, will return to the cage on April 9 to battle featherweight bruiser Olivia Parker at Bellator 256 inside Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut.
That’s according to a report from ESPN.
Zingano (11-4) turns 39 in July and is hoping to work her way toward a Cris Cyborg title fight. “Alpha’s” victory over Gabrielle Holloway at Bellator 245 marked the first time Zingano competed since losing to Megan Anderson at UFC 232.
As for the 39 year-old Parker (4-1), she’s coming off a first-round submission loss to Chelsea Chandler at the Invicta 40 event in July 2020. It was the first career defeat for “Phoenix,” who holds three wins by either knockout or submission.
Bellator 256 will feature the light heavyweight rematch between Ryan Bader and Lyoto Machida. Elsewhere on the card, Corey Anderson makes his Bellator MMA debut opposite Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov.
