‘The Korean Zombie’ Chan Sung Jung isn’t a fan of how Alexander Volkanovski defended his title against Max Holloway at UFC 251.
UFC 251 was marred by some judging controversy at the co-main event. Alexander Volkanovski defended the featherweight title via split decision, a verdict that many are opposed to.
Even UFC president Dana White wasn’t too pleased with the “bad judging” for the fight, as two officials had the reigning champion winning the last three rounds.
One fighter who paid close attention was “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung, who is on the same boat as White and many others. The number-four ranked contender will likely face Brian Ortega next, but that didn’t stop him from issuing a challenge, while criticizing Volkanovski’s win.
Jung expressed his post-UFC 251 sentiments in a recent Instagram post.
I am responding to yesterday’s title match against Volkanovski and Holloway. To be honest, it is shameful that Volkanovski is a champion of my weight class.
Give him to me then you don’t need to worry about the judges decision.
As you know, I won’t let the judges decide the result of my fight. I will finish him at the title match and that is what UFC fans want to watch. @danawhite @ufc @espnmma @mmamania
Zombie last fought in December when he finished Frankie Edgar via first-round TKO in his home country of South Korea.
