The 2021 PFL World Championship will feature a total of six world title fights, with the victor of each bout taking home $1 million.

Tonight, the third season of the Professional Fighters League will come to a close. In the main event, Kayla Harrison will bring her current contract with the promotion to an end as she looks to repeat as women’s lightweight champion against Taylor Guardado. Harrison has yet to taste defeat in her MMA career, and the -3000 odds in her favor indicate that the public expects it to stay that way in tonight’s main event.

In the co-main event, Ray Cooper III will look to win the 2021 PFL welterweight championship for the second time when he goes against Magomed Magomedkerimov. Magomedkerimov will be bringing in an impressive 28-5 record into the cage with him and an unbeaten PFL record. He’ll also have the privilege of having the man who he believes could be the greatest coach in MMA history, Khabib Nurmagomedov in his corner. Stay tuned tonight to see if Coach Khabib will be able to lead Magomedkerimov to a PFL championship.

Also on the championship docket will be heavyweights Bruno Cappelozza taking on Ante Delija. Cappelozza comes in as the -185 favorite, a designation no doubt earned in part by a 3-0 season record. Delija will enter the bout with a 2-1 record this season, with the lone loss coming to guess who? Bruno Cappelozza back in May. In the lightweight championship, Loik Radzhabov will be the moderate favorite as he tries to take home $1 million at the expense of Raush Manfio.

In the final two championship bouts, Movlid Khaybulaev and Chris Wade will square off, with both men entering the fight with a 3-0 season record. Khaybulaev is currently listed as the -170 favorite. Lastly, Antonio Carlos Junior will face Marthin Hamlet for the light heavyweight prize. Carlos Junior spoke with MMA News prior to the fight about the healthy mindset he has heading into the finals after overcoming many dark days in the UFC.

We will also get a second look at Claressa Shields as she returns to the MMA space against 2-0 Abigail Montes. Montes has already shared how she envisions the fight ending, and Shields will have an opportunity to erase those images by bringing a mixed bag of trouble with her into tonight’s scrap. Will Shields go 2-0 tonight? Or will she suffer her first career setback?

Plus, former Bellator Featherweight Champion Julia Budd will make her PFL debut on the main card tonight as she takes on Kaitlin Young.

The 2021 PFL World Championship takes place live tonight, with the main card beginning at 8:00 PM ET on ESPN2 and ESPN+, and the preliminary card streaming exclusively on ESPN+ at 4:30 PM ET.

PFL welterweight finalist Magomed Magomedkerimov has the privilege of having former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov as his coach.

Magomedkerimov will likely need the strong guidance of Nurmagomedov as he gets ready to face former welterweight champion Ray Cooper III in the 2021 PFL Championships tomorrow.

Magomedkerimov is the latest Russian mauler to dominate the MMA world, as he looks to complete his stellar 2021 season with another title win. He’ll face Cooper in a rematch three years in the making.

During his PFL media day press conference, Magomedkerimov spoke with MMA News about what it’s like to have Nurmagomedov as a mentor and a coach.

“We grew up in the same area,” Magomedkerimov told MMA News. “So, he knows me as a person and a fighter very well. He has a chance to be the greatest coach ever.”

“His attention to detail, his relationship with the fighters, it’s unique. I’ve never seen anyone transition so easily [from fighter to coach].”

Nurmagomedov retired from MMA following his win over Justin Gaethje at UFC 254. Following the title defense, he announced his retirement in a promise to his family after the death of his father, Abdulmanap.

Now, Nurmagomedov has turned his attention to fighters like Magomedkerimov who continue to perform on MMA’s biggest stage. He’s also coached top UFC contenders such as lightweight Islam Makhachev.

Magomedkerimov earned another spot in the PFL Finals after dominant performances against Sadibou Sy and Curtis Millender. He has won 13 fights in a row and has showcased his signature wrestling skillset almost at will.

The fighter-coach relationship is essential in competition, and Magomedkerimov appears poised to earn another PFL title with one of the greatest fighters of all time in his corner. Competing on the big stage can be overwhelming for young fighters, but Magomedkerimov has the confidence of his coach and mentor.

Do you agree with Magomed Magomedkerimov regarding Khabib Nurmagomedov’s coaching prowess?

It wasn’t always smooth sailing for PFL light heavyweight finalist Antonio Carlos Junior after he left the UFC following an up-and-down tenure at middleweight.

But, he’s managed to turn the corner and feels the best he’s ever been heading into the biggest fight of his career against Marthin Hamlet in the 2021 PFL Championships tomorrow, October 27.

Antonio Carlos Junior Faces Marthin Hamlet At The PFL Championships

Carlos Junior was expected by many to be a future UFC middleweight title contender after he won The Ultimate Fighter: Season 3 in 2014. But, a series of unfortunate injuries combined with the toll his body suffered through during weight cuts ended up being his undoing, with three straight UFC losses before his release.

During a recent interview with MMA News, Carlos Junior alluded to how his move to 205 pounds has been a turning point in his career.

“I was beating myself up [at middleweight],” Carlos Junior said during his media day availability. “Now, I’m able to fight at a more natural weight and focus more on my training. It’s the best I’ve ever been.”

“I went through some dark times physically and mentally [in the UFC], but I feel like the best version of myself at 205 [pounds].”

Carlos Junior faces a tough test against Hamlet for the PFL light heavyweight championship. Hamlet is coming off of wins over Dan Spohn and Cezar Ferreira en route to the finals.

The grappling battle between Carlos Junior and Hamlet figures to be fascinating as well, in a prototypical wrestling vs. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu matchup.

The PFL signed Carlos Junior in March, just weeks after his UFC release. He hasn’t looked back since moving to light heavyweight which has included dominant wins over former PFL champion Emiliano Sordi and former UFC veteran Tom Lawlor.

Carlos Junior has been a matchup nightmare in many eyes and will look to cap off his impressive PFL season with a light heavyweight championship tomorrow night.

What is your prediction for Antonio Carlos Junior vs. Marthin Hamlet at the PFL Championships?
