Press Release – Edmonton, Alberta – Aggression Fighting Championships, the biggest MMA organization in Canada, is set to make its professional debut in Winnipeg, Manitoba on September 15th, 2012 at the Winnipeg Convention Center.

AFC 11 has already locked in a main event for this spectacular card, as Winnipeg native Joe Doerkson, a former UFC contender and one of Canada’s top-ranked middleweights, will take on another UFC veteran in The Ultimate Fighter alumni Kalib Starnes.

“This is an absolutely tremendous opportunity for AFC to make its mark as the dominant MMA promotion in Canada,” stated Mr. Harvey Panesar, AFC Executive. “By securing a Winnipeg location, the AFC is now spread out over three provinces, and still aggressively looking to grow. Joe is one of the most exciting fighters to watch in the cage, as he continues to bring excitement to every fight he is involved in, as he showcased at AFC 10 in Calgary.”

The AFC is marking its first foray past Alberta as the organization has successfully promoted events in Victoria, Edmonton, and Calgary since the evolution of the merger took place. Winnipeg is a start for the AFC as it continues to branch eastward, looking at making a move eventually into Ontario.

“We would love the opportunity to expand so far east that we end up doing events coast to coast and truly become Canada’s national organization. Fans have been excited at the possibility of us expanding out east, but it is one show at a time, and Winnipeg is going to be incredibly exciting! We have already had some contact with fans who have heard through the grapevine that we will be coming and a ‘positive response’ is truly an understatement,” concluded Mr. Darren Owen, AFC Executive.

AFC will continue to announce further matchups as they become solidified.

AFC 11 will be available through online PPV, which can be viewed at www.AggressionFC.com

AGGRESSION FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIPS AND UNIFIED MMA INVADE THE SHAW CONFERENCE CENTER WITH SUPER SHOW

Press Release – July 9, 2012 – Edmonton, Alberta – Aggression Fighting Championships (AFC) and Unified MMA are excited to announce their upcoming joint show, aptly titled “INVASION,” which is set to rock the Shaw Conference Center on Friday, October 12th, 2012.

“This was an opportunity for both promotions to give back to the amazing set of fans we both have,” stated Sunny Sareen of Unified MMA. “Obviously we have a lot of crossover fans that attend both Unified and Aggression events. A lot of these fans have wondered about some dream matchups between Unified fighters and Aggression fighters…we just decided it made sense to make it happen.”

“Aggression FC has some major stars in the making, with Stephen “Big Bad” Beaumont, KB Bhullar, Mike Newton, Nick Dragich, and Robbie Merrill, along with many of Unified’s current stars, including “Shaolin” Shane Campbell, Tim “Shady” Smith, Merrick Duggan, Ryan Rother, Josh Dugas, Rocky Biggs, and Mike Davis. We, like the fans, wondered how some of these ‘dream’ matchups would play out. At the end of the day, it gives the fight fans what they want to see, which is the most important aspect of this fight card,” mentioned Aggression FC executive Harvey Panesar.

“Sunny has a tremendous ability to sell out his shows to overcapacity. His marketing skills are incredible, and his ability to sell tickets is impeccable. We knew that joining forces with Unified would absolutely electrify the Shaw Conference Center,” explained Moin Mirza, Aggression FC executive. “Not to mention that we have been working on some very big things…we should have some more pleasant surprises leading up to Oct 12th.”

This event will be broadcasted through online PPV that will be available on AggressionFC.com. Look for more details in the coming weeks!

MFC – Graham Spencer

Press Release – Earlier this week, we announced that Canadian featherweight star Graham Spencer had inked a deal with Aggression Fighting Championship to face Adam Lorenz, another top 145er. We were extremely elated to have put together such a deal, as this is a major fight.

How this came about was that back in mid-June, I received a call from Echelon FM’s Darcy McBride asking me if I’d be interested in signing Graham Spencer. I replied that I definitely was, but I wanted to know the status of his current fight contract. I was assured that Spencer’s three-fight deal with his promotional home was completed, and that he wanted to fight somewhere else. Specifically, they asked to fight Adam Lorenz. I again asked to make sure that he was one hundred percent free and clear from any other fight contract, and was assured that this was the case.

I contacted Lorenz’s manager and they verbally accepted the terms and the fight. We just needed to confirm the date.

I then contacted Darcy to let him know we were confirmed for the Lorenz fight. He was happy, and shortly after I received a text message from him that Spencer has signed his contract, which I have a picture of. It is dated June 20, 2012.

In the following days, Darcy enquired about when a press release would be sent out regarding his client signing with AFC. Shortly after, a press release was sent out. After this release had gone out, Spencer’s old promotion stated that Spencer was on a champion’s clause, which was never communicated to me by Darcy. His response was that he didn’t think it was an issue because he was going to get his client released from that clause.

So, after I was told Graham Spencer had signed his contract on or before June 20th, and Darcy was asking for a press release about the signing, he fails to send in the signed contract, and then proceeds to hold it hostage while he entertains other offers. We had a signed agreement which was used as leverage and then reneged on. This is completely unprofessional.

As a result of what has come to light over the last few days, and the absolute malicious misrepresentation made by Echelon FM and Darcy McBride directly, we have decided that any fighter being represented by Echelon FM or Darcy McBride will no longer be fighting with Aggression Fighting Championship.
