BKFC star and former UFC women’s flyweight Paige VanZant has pinpointed the biggest perks of subscribing to her exclusive content website.

While she made her name inside the Octagon, where she threw down against the likes of current strawweight champion Rose Namajunas, Michelle Waterson, Tecia Torres, and Felice Herrig, VanZant’s prominence has only risen since she departed MMA’s biggest stage in 2020.

As well as signing a lucrative contract with the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, the 28-year-old has increased her fanbase through an active presence on social media, including the creation of her own adult content site and a carefree attitude when it comes to her posts.

During a recent interview with MMA Junkie’s Mike Bohn, VanZant admitted that successful social media promotion and posting have always come naturally to her, hence the fruitful beginning of her exclusive page.

Discussing the benefits of her personal site, “12 Gauge” cited the ability to communicate one-on-one with her as the biggest perk for those who choose to subscribe.

“I think my entire career, throughout the UFC early on, everyone said I was a master at social media. I still feel like I am. It’s definitely another—not a full-time job for me, it’s more to have fun,” said VanZant. “I get to communicate. The difference between regular social media, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook—those are all things I do have and I’m very active on—this (personal site), it’s a select group of people that are paying for my time, so I feel like they get that one-on-one interaction.

“I get to talk to people personally every day, whereas on Instagram, and Facebook, and Twitter, I’m not able to respond to everybody, all the time,” VanZant continued. “So I find the balance really easy. It’s something I have a lot of fun with. In-between training sessions, I can get on there, and talk to people, and respond.”

VanZant Gives Advice For Other Social Media Influencers

While she’s perhaps never been able to reach the upper echelons in combat sports, despite showing early promise with a 3-0 slate in the UFC, VanZant’s falters in the cage and the ring haven’t prevented her from amassing a large following.

On Instagram, the Oregon native boasts over three million followers, which is more than all four reigning female titleholders in the UFC. With that in mind, VanZant is well placed to offer advice to those aspiring to become social media influencers.

“I don’t mind sharing (advice) at all,” VanZant said. “I don’t really have secrets. I feel like I don’t ever—my candle doesn’t dim by lighting someone else’s. For me, I tell everybody, ‘You have to post every day.’ I think it’s important to be as authentic as possible. Truly, be yourself, because otherwise, it comes off as corny or cheesy. People just wanna know the real you. That’s, I feel like, why I’ve had a lot of success.

“It’s me and my husband messing around on Instagram, or messing around on Facebook, or posting our lives. On my TikTok, you can see a lot of the funny things that me and my husband do… I also get to share my fight side, my fun, sexy side,” added VanZant. “For any girls that want to try to put their foot in, I guess, that exclusive content door, the link in my profile, you can go on there and there’s a link that says, ‘Create your own content site.’”

While her social media and exclusive content will no doubt continue to grow in the coming months and years, VanZant’s fighting journey isn’t finished yet. As well as recently signing with professional wrestling organization AEW, “12 Gauge” is set to return to BKFC action in London this summer.

Do you think that Paige VanZant can still find success in combat sports?

Bare Knuckle FC (BKFC) president David Feldman isn’t done with heavyweight signings just yet.

Earlier this week it was announced that former UFC heavyweight Ben Rothwell inked a deal with BKFC. However, it sounds like he’ll be joined by a few other big names in the division as well. Recently, Feldman spoke to MMA Underground’s John Morgan about a variety of topics, including their recent signing of Rothwell.

While discussing the signing, Feldman teased that he is also in talks with a few more big-name heavyweights to join the promotion.

“We have two more big signings coming this week in the heavyweight division as well,” Feldman said. “And I think by the end of the week people are going to say ‘Man that heavyweight division is really looking good.”

When asked for more information on the potential signings, Feldman noted that one of them is actually a former world title contender in boxing. Another hasn’t been in the public eye for some time but has had fights with some big names. And finally, another MMA star who recently competed in a “top MMA organization.”

“We have a former world championship contender in boxing that we’re looking to sign right now,” Feldman said. “Hopefully get that one done tomorrow or the next day. Fought everyone in the world. And then — actually three signings. One guy that hasn’t been around for a little bit, but he fits this style perfectly.

“And then another guy that was fighting in one of the top MMA organizations recently. So we’re going to have four new additions to the heavyweight division (with Ben Rothewell), and I think the heavyweights are going to be happy because, hopefully, it’s going to become some good money fights for them down the road.”

Former UFC heavyweight contender Ben Rothwell is transitioning to bare-knuckle boxing after agreeing to a deal with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC).

Rothwell was released from the UFC just weeks ago after a long tenure with the promotion. He was scheduled to face Alexander Gustafsson on May 21 before parting ways with the UFC.

A free agent for the first time in a while, Rothwell agreed to a deal with BKFC as he announced during a recent appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani.

“BKFC came with the best offer, made me very excited,” Rothwell said. “I believe that it’s the place for me because I was doing BKFC long before MMA. It’s something that’s part of my life, something my great grandfather was doing; probably not legally, but had a history of it. It’s something that’s in my blood.”

Rothwell’s last UFC fight came against Marcos Rogerio de Lima last November, losing via first-round knockout just seconds into the fight. Before that, he earned a second-round submission of Chris Barnett last May.

During his time in the UFC, Rothwell was a mainstay in the UFC heavyweight title picture. He earned wins over the likes of Josh Barnett, Alistair Overeem, and Stefan Struve in the Octagon.

Rothwell made his UFC debut against Cain Velasquez at UFC 104. He’s looking to become the latest former UFC fighter to find success in BKFC, joining the likes of Mike Perry and Chad Mendes.

A date and opponent for Rothwell’s BKFC debut are expected to be announced within the coming weeks.

Bare Knuckle FC president David Feldman came to the rescue of heavyweight Joey Beltran, as he was choking on a pre-fight meal.

Beltran was just hours away from his matchup with Frank Tate at a BKFC Fight Night in Fort Lauderdale, FL on Thursday when a routine pre-fight breakfast turned into a near disaster.

During a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Beltran revealed that his near-death began after watching a video on the internet with a member of his team.

“An old-school Fear Factor video or something and I started laughing. Next thing you know, I started choking,” Beltran said. “Of all people, the boss man had to come up and bust a Heimlich. Couple of pumps and I spit it out and I was all good.

“So, contrary to popular people, David Feldman cares about us fighters!”

Unfortunately for Beltran, he would go on to lose to Tate in a 23-second knockout later that night. However, fighting was likely one of the last things on his mind after Feldman saved his life.

Beltran, a former UFC and Bellator fighter made the transition from MMA to bare-knuckle boxing in 2018. During his time in the UFC and Bellator, he competed against top fighters such as former UFC champion Stipe Miocic and Rampage Jackson.

Rachael Ostovich will be competing in BKFC again.

Ostovich made her BKFC debut in July of 2021 and beat Paige VanZant at KnuckleMania 1. It served as a rematch, as the two fought in the UFC which VanZant won by submission in January of 2019.

Since the fight against VanZant, there has been no word about Ostovich’s fighting future. However, according to MMAJunkie’s Danny Segura, Ostovich has signed a new multi-fight deal with BKFC which means she will have her second fight soon.

After her BKFC debut against VanZant, Ostovich said she enjoyed it but she wasn’t certain if she would compete again in the sport. Well, seven months later, she has decided she wants to fight again.

“Bare-knuckle, totally different sport. Honestly, when you get in there, it’s fun,” Ostovich said at the post-fight press conference. “I was having fun. I was talking. I was bout it. I was down. It was great. It’s definitely up to my manager. I can say yeah [I’ll fight bare-knuckle again] all I want up there but when it comes down to it, it’s got to be on the paper and I’m sure they’ll have a good talk after this.”

Rachael Ostovich is 1-0 in BKFC and 4-6 in MMA. The Hawaiian was released from the promotion after losing three straight as she was submitted by Montana De La Rosa, VanZant and in her last MMA fight, suffered a TKO loss to Gina Mazany. She went 1-3 in the UFC with her lone victory coming over Karine Gevorgyan.

At this time, it’s uncertain when and who Ostovich will face in her BKFC return. She could very well earn a title fight or perhaps have a trilogy with VanZant as “12 Gauge” is also returning soon and they are 1-1 against one another in combat sports. Regardless, Ostovich will be back, which is good news for BKFC.
