On Saturday, February 2, 2013, UFC 156 will air live from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the main event of the evening, UFC Featherweight champion Jose “Scarface” Aldo will square off against former UFC Lightweight champion Frankie “The Answer” Edgar in a big 145 pound matchup. Despite being undersized for the division, Edgar established himself as one of the top 155 pounders in the world before dropping back to back controversial decisions to current champion Benson Henderson. If he wants to capture gold in a second weight class, though, he is going to have to find a way to deal with Aldo’s intensely effective striking and takedown defense.

Rounding out the card are a Heavyweight showdown pitting former Strikeforce champions Alistair Overeem and Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva against each other, a Middleweight showdown between Jon Fitch and submission wiz Demian Maia, and a Flyweight bout between top contenders Joseph Benavidez and Ian McCall.

On Saturday, January 26, 2013, the sixth installment of the UFC on FOX series will hit the airwaves live from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. In the main event of the evening, newly-crowned UFC Flyweight champion Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson will defend his belt against heavy-handed Greg Jackson protégé John “The Magician” Dobson. Dodson is riding a five-fight win streak including three straight wins since debuting in the UFC, but Johnson proved during the Flyweight title tournament that he is a force to be reckoned with now that he is in his natural weight class.

On Saturday, January 19, 2013, the seventh installment of the UFC on FX series will air live from Ibirapuera Arena in Sao Paulo, Brazil. In the main event of the evening, native son Vitor “The Phenom” Belfort will square off against perennial top contender Michael “The Count” Bisping in a Middleweight showdown. Belfort is a versatile, experienced veteran with a surplus of knockout power and an underrated ground game. Bisping, not known for his punching power, is nevertheless one of the UFC Middleweight division’s most dangerous strikers because of his accuracy, hand speed, and high-volume punching. Will Bisping’s technique be enough to counteract Belfort’s superior power, or will the former champion derail Bisping’s title hopes? Only time will tell.

Current Betting Odds for UFC 155 – On Saturday, December 29, 2012, UFC 155 will air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the main event, UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior “Cigano” dos Santos will square off against the man he won the title against, former UFC Heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez. In their last fight, Velasquez had no answer for the striking of dos Santos. There is no question that Velasquez is the better wrestler going into this fight, and Cigano has not had his ground game tested. Can Velasquez put dos Santos on his back this time, or will he get blitzed immediately once again? It’s a big question for a compelling main event to end a great 2012 for the UFC.

On Saturday, December 8, 2012, UFC on FOX 5 will air live from the Key Arena in Seattle, Washington. In the main event, UFC Lightweight champion Benson “Smooth” Henderson will defend his title against Stockton, California’s Nate Diaz. Henderson has looked spectacular since coming to the UFC from WEC, using his blend of striking, athleticism, and grappling to capture the UFC Lightweight Title and earning back-to-back victories over previous champion Frankie “The Answer” Edgar. Diaz, though, is one of the UFC’s most devastating submission grapplers and has an unorthodox striking style that is difficult to figure out. If Henderson wants to make another successful title defense, he is going to have to figure out how to deal with Nate’s aggressive punching from strange angles and be careful not to get caught on the mat if he finds himself in top position.
