Thomas Gerbasi, UFC – Seth Petruzelli is many things to many people. Depending on who you are, he’s that guy from The Ultimate Fighter season two, he’s the first person to beat Kimbo Slice, the one teammate and friend Tom Lawlor led into the Octagon on a leash at UFC 100, or the smoothie king of Florida.

Thomas Gerbasi, UFC – Forrest Petz is probably the nicest guy you’ll meet with the nickname “The Meat Cleaver”, and that alone makes his return to the UFC this weekend to face talented up and comer Daniel “Ninja” Roberts welcome news. Well, that and the fact that I get to write “Meat Cleaver”, but I digress.

Thomas Gerbasi, UFC – Gerald Harris laughs when he tells you, “I’m not a fighter.” In fact, he goes even further to say “The last fight I had was in the sixth grade.”
Those are statements the 15 people he’s already beaten in his four year mixed martial arts career would probably take issue with, but as he explains, “I don’t like fighting. I just love winning, I love competition. It’s the closest thing I can get to wrestling, and I can’t explain what a victory feels like. A knockout is like a game-winning shot or touchdown and I’m addicted to that feeling.”

Elliot Worsell, UFC – Krzysztof Soszynski has mastered one dimension and won 20 of 31 professional contests. Now ‘The Polish Experiment’ is working on the second, third and forth dimensions, all in the hope of gradually emerging as one of the very best light-heavyweights in the world. A late-bloomer and hard-grafter, Soszynski is now on the brink of cracking the big league, yet remains firmly attached to and aware of a time when progression and victories didn’t quite some so easy to him.

Elliot Worsell, UFC – If you don’t believe in the idea of acquiring victory in defeat, ask Stephan Bonnar. He’d tell you there was little to celebrate four months ago in Sydney but, despite a third straight loss, ‘The American Psycho’, though typically bloody and battered, was somehow able to conjure a smile.

Chuck Mindenhall, UFC – While most people were rooting for Court McGee at the Ultimate Fighter Finale on June 19 because of his compelling back-story, there was at least one fighter who could fully empathize with McGee’s rise from the ashes reinvention. That was “The Immortal” Matt Brown from TUF 7, who, like McGee, battled substance problems and an eventual heroin overdose before making a name for himself in the realm of mixed martial arts.
