Israel Adesanya has seen a fast rise to the top of the UFC mountain. Adesanya joined the Las Vegas-based promotion back in February of 2018. In just under two years’ time, Adesanya has captured the 185-pound throne.

Aside from his ridiculous skills inside of the Octagon, Adesanya has a one of a kind personality and all the makings of a big star. According to former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, “T-Wood” believes Adesanya could even reach superstardom similar to that of current UFC mega-star Conor McGregor.

Woodley explained on his TMZ show, “The Hollywood Beatdown,” that Adesanya’s star power could reach right under that of McGregor’s in just two years. (H/T MMA Fighting)

“To be honest, I think Israel is going to evolve into a star right underneath Conor McGregor,” Woodley said.

“It’s hard to deny him. He fights crazy, he has great I.Q., he’s tough, he’s shown he can take punches, he’s with the sh*t, he’s gonna talk sh*t in the press conferences, his entrance was the best entrance we’ve ever seen in mixed martial arts – even when freaking Conor had a live music playing in the top, it superseded that in my opinion – [and] he’s getting better with time.”

Woodley also said he’d love to share the Octagon with “The Last Stylebender” one day. The former 170-pound king wants fights that excite him – and Adesanya fits that bill to the letter.

“For me, I like fights that excite me,” Woodley said. “For me it’s like a respect thing, so if I can get in front of somebody like Carlos Condit or Robbie Lawler back in those days, that sh*t pumped me up. Israel is that guy. I know talent from a mile away, I know star power from a mile away. He, in the next two years, will be right underneath Conor McGregor.”

What do you think about Woodley suggesting Adesanya’s star power can reach right underneath McGregor’s in two years?

Israel Adesanya and Jon Jones have continued their beef at one another on social media. The two have gone back and forth at each other for weeks now.

Adesanya took to Twitter to take some shots at some bad things, “Bones” has done in the past.

Of course, it didn’t take long for Jon Jones to see this and go on a Twitter rant about Adesanya.

“What happened to originality?” Jones wrote in response.

“He’s not even that young, I just make him seem like a boy,” Jones added when a fan called Adesanya a kid. “Annoying kid, probably just finished watching cartoons, got him all hyped up.”

Jon Jones has taken shots at Israel Adesanya for liking cartoons and anime as a 30-year-old.

Whether or not this beef will lead to a fight is unknown. But, Israel Adesanya has said he will fight Jon Jones in 2021 at the Raiders stadium in Las Vegas.

Currently, neither Jon Jones or Israel Adesanya have fights booked. “Bones” has not fought since July of this year when he beat Thiago Santos by split-decision to defend the title. When he will fight next is to be seen, as he has hinted about waiting for the winner of Cormier-Miocic 3.

Israel Adesanya, meanwhile, won the middleweight title last time out at UFC 243 in October where he TKO’d Robert Whittaker. “The Last Stylebender” is still undefeated in MMA.

Do you think we will ever see Israel Adesanya and Jon Jones fight?

Israel Adesanya and Jon Jones’ feud is continuing to grow each day on social media. The two have traded shots at one another, and if they do end up fighting, it could be one of the biggest fights in the UFC.

Of course, Adesanya says he will fight Jon Jones in Vegas at the Raiders Stadium in 2021. Which is a longtime away considering how much trash talking they are doing. On Wednesday night, ‘The Last Stylebender’ absolutely unloaded on Jon Jones in a Twitter rant.

“Lol I formally release DC as being my pussy, Izzy now takes the throne.” Jon Jones wrote.

That got a response from Adesanya who wrote the following.

“Oh @JonnyBones… ‘You can be such a pervert sometimes…’”

Adesanya then followed up with a couple of more tweets.

This is easily the most Israel Adesanya has tradh talked someone as he brought up Jon Jones’ past in several tweets. The rivalry between the two is starting to reach new heights where the only way they could settle it is to fight. Whether or not that happens anytime soon is to be seen.

But, there is no question, Israel Adesanya and Jon Jones’ rivalry is not going to end anytime soon after this recent Twitter exchange.

It looks like Jon Jones has completely turned his attention to Israel Adesanya as his new heated rival in mixed martial arts.

Jones and Daniel Cormier have been rivals for years and part of the reason why their fights are so anticipated is because there is a genuine dislike between the pair. But with Cormier retiring after a third fight with Stipe Miocic, it looks like their rivalry will end, at least in the Octagon.

And Adesanya looks to be the new replacement. Jones and Adesanya have been going back-and-forth throughout the year and talk of a superfight between the two has increased following the latter’s win over Robert Whittaker at UFC 243.

However, Adesanya’s coach Eugene Bareman recently claimed his team would prefer for his student to face Miocic instead of Jones:

“We don’t have to give a person of Jon’s nature an opportunity that Israel can bestow on him,” Bareman said. “That’s why I suggested that we fight Stipe.

“If we’re going to do a superfight, we’d much rather do it against Stipe. A good dude, a nice guy, a stand-up guy. That’s just how my team operates.”

Safe to say, Jones came across those comments and was not impressed. He reacted to the clip of the interview posted on social media soon after:

“Lol I formally release DC as being my pu**y, Izzy now takes the throne,” Jones tweeted on Wednesday.

No response from “The Last Stylebender” or Cormier as of now.

Chris Weidman Plans On Spoiling Jon Jones vs. Israel Adesanya Plans

Chris Weidman already spoiled one all-time mixed martial arts (MMA) dream fight, and now he plans on doing exactly that yet again. Chris Weidman already spoiled one all-time mixed martial arts (MMA) dream fight, and now he plans on doing exactly that yet again. Several years ago, during a time where a fight between then-middleweight king Anderson Silva and then-welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre seemed possible, Chris Weidman shook up the combat sports world.

In July of 2013, Weidman defeated Silva via second-round knockout to win the 185-pound title. In their rematch, Silva gruesomely broke his leg in the second round, again awarding Weidman the victory via TKO. The shine of having two streaking champions face off against each other in “GSP” vs. Silva, mixed with the Brazilian’s leg injury sidelining him for so long, all but ended that dream scenario.

Now, Weidman has the opportunity to spoil the party once again. Currently, Jon Jones reigns atop the mountain at 205 pounds with no signs of slowing down, and with Weidman now jumping up to his weight class, “The All American” has his sights set on handing the Jackson-Wink product his first legitimate loss inside the cage. Of course, fans are now clamoring to see Jones take on newly-crowned middleweight champion Israel Adesanya in a potential dream fight.

Adesanya and Jones have been beefing with one another online for the past several months, and now that the devastating striker has some gold around his waist, and the interest from UFC president Dana White, a fight between the two champions might not be far off. However, Weidman makes his light heavyweight debut in the main event of UFC Boston this weekend against Dominick Reyes. Should Weidman prove to be successful, he could jump the line for a shot at “Bones.”

If he does that, and somehow manages to do the unthinkable in beating Jones, it will all but ruin yet another dream fight MMA fans are crossing their fingers for. Speaking after open workouts this week to MMA Junkie, Weidman said he believes he can land a title fight with Jones if victorious this weekend in Boston.

“I think so, because of what I accomplished in the past and coming in against a guy who’s undefeated ranked fourth in the world in that weight class,” Weidman said. “If I go out there and do what I believe I can do, I don’t think you can really deny it. Especially because Jon Jones has faced most of the top guys and beat most of the top guys. Why not?”

Weidman then acknowledged the beef between Jones and Adesanya, and the likelihood that both men are angling to build up a fight between each other down the line. However, Weidman was very clear about his intentions to spoil those plans.

“I think Israel Adesanya did a great job in his last fight,” Weidman said. “I think he’s trying to bait him into coming up and taking a big fight because Adesanya became a big star. I think it’s a big fight for Jon Jones. I think he’s just trying to egg him on, but I’m going to ruin all of that.”

What do you think about Weidman wanting to spoil plans for Jones vs. Adesanya?
