COLUMBUS, Ohio – All 20 fighters for the Strikeforce: Feijao vs. Henderson card made weight without incident on Friday. The official weigh-in event took place as part of the Arnold Sports Festival at the Columbus Convention Center in the Ohio state capital.

Main-event title fighters Dan Henderson and champion Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante each came in a half-pound under the 205-pound title-fight limit at 204.5 pounds. And in the co-main event women’s welterweight title bout, champion Marloes Coenen hit the scales on the button at 135 pounds; late-notice challenger Liz Carmouche was 134 pounds.

Former Strikeforce women’s welterweight top contender Roxanne Modafferi has been cut by the promotion.

Modafferi made the announcement Sunday on her personal blog, saying she received a letter on Friday from the company notifying her of her release.

“I’m pretty bummed out,” Modafferi said in her blog post. “There are still women I want to fight in that organization! But I really had an amazing time. I can’t discount these experiences … they were so valuable for me, and enriched my life.”

And according to Strikeforce’s official release on the fight, the winner could get the next title shot against lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez.

Strikeforce on Tuesday announced the backup fighters for its first women’s tournament, as well as the official rules for that tournament, which will be held Aug. 13 as part of a Strikeforce Challengers show in Phoenix.

Colleen Schneider and Liz Carmouche will take part in what the promotion is terming a “reserve bout” as part of the 135-pound, four-woman event. The two will fight on the preliminary card. The main card will air live on Showtime.
