Mike Perry is one of the biggest fan favorites in the UFC at the moment. There’s no doubt that “Platinum” shows up to fight and give it his all every time he steps into the cage. After his latest defeat to Vicente Luque earlier this year, Perry is looking to bounce back in a big way.

He wants a struggling Robbie Lawler next, who he knows is down to meet him in the center of the Octagon and bang it out. Perry called Lawler out during a media scrum as a guest fighter at UFC Tampa last week.

“If Robbie Lawler would grace me with his name on a contract, let’s go bro,” Perry said. “Let’s put on a show. We’re going to put on a show. None of that wrestling (expletive).

“I might mix it up on you. I might try to change levels, shoot a single leg, take you down, punch you a little bit. Punch you, get you disoriented. Or I might hold tight and box. Who am I? Who am I to be accepted from a guy like that?”

However, it looks like those plans didn’t exactly pan out, as Perry took to Twitter to claim that Lawler doesn’t want to fight him, and the UFC also shot down what would’ve been an explosive matchup between himself and Niko Price.

“Robbie don’t wanna fight me. They don’t wanna give me niko cuz they think the money is to easy for me. As much as they’re going to pay me they want the competition to match up. Somebody gonna get knocked out ! Train everyday to make highlights ! I perform my best every time !”

What do you think about a potential matchup between Perry and Lawler?

Headline: Leave It To Mike Perry To Lose Skateboard In A Sewer

Author: Fernando Quiles Jr.

One minute Mike Perry was practicing an ollie, the next his skateboard fell down a sewer.

It’s easy to see why Perry is in search of new hobbies. Known for being quite a unique character, Perry isn’t one to sit still. “Platinum” suffered a gnarly broken nose following his split decision loss to Vicente Luque last month. Perry is expected to take it easy to let the nose heal.

Mike Perry’s Skateboard Falls Down A Sewer

Perry’s efforts to start a new hobby in skateboarding didn’t exactly get off to an ideal start. On his Instagram page, “Platinum” posted a video revealing the dreadful fate of his skateboard.

“Watch this sh*t lmao can’t even practice new hobbies.”

When Perry is eventually cleared to return, he’ll look to get back in the win column. Perry hasn’t been able to string together two straight wins since Sept. 2017. Since that time, “Platinum” has gone 2-4. He scored wins over Paul Felder and Alex Oliveira, but fell to Santiago Ponzinibbio, Max Griffin, Donald Cerrone, and Luque.

While Perry has had a bit of a rough go inside the Octagon lately, it isn’t all doom and gloom. Some believe Perry should’ve been awarded the win against Luque. “Platinum” also has an exciting fighting style that is always fan-friendly and he’s not too shabby in the bonus department. It also helps to have a strong personality in the Endeavor era of the UFC.

Mike Perry is not a fan of Conor McGregor, and he’s tired of hearing about the Irish star.

Recently, McGregor took part in an interview with ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, which has been picking up quite a bit of attention from the media. Perry was scrolling through his Instagram when he came across a bit of footage from the ESPN interview. Perry decided to leave the following comment on the clip.

“Shut UP already with this damn interview. Why ask us to click a link and watch the whole thing if you’re gonna post it already. I’ll fight his spoiled ass on UFC Tampa with a busted nose. I’ll beat him with his own left hand. SHUT UPPPP.”

McGregor has been in quite a bit of legal trouble over the past few years and has come under a lot of fire for recently punching a 50-year-old man in a pub for refusing a drink of his very own Proper 12 Irish Whiskey. As for Perry, he comes off of a controversial split decision loss to Vicente Luque at UFC Uruguay.

Perry busted his nose up pretty badly during the bout, and will likely need to be sidelined for a good amount of time before returning.

What do you think about a potential fight between Perry and McGregor? Could that ever become a possibility?

Mike Perry is looking to get right back into action after having his nose shattered in his last outing against Vicente Luque.

Perry took a knee to the face towards the end of his meeting with Luque at UFC Uruguay, breaking his nose badly. The aftermath resulted in a terribly disfigured nose for Perry, as you can see in the photo above. Now, with Perry’s return time looking to be a lot earlier than expected, “Platinum” is already looking to lay down the foundation for his return.

Taking to Twitter, Perry decided to call out fellow welterweight star Ben Askren. Perry noted that the matchup would make sense “since we both took a knee.” He also would like the fight to go towards a good cause.

“Since we both took a knee have to sit out and like to talk how about we start the talk for @Benaskren vs myself and take a stand for charity at the same time. Winner donates 20 grand to a charity of the losers choosing. Or I stay quiet and wait for the cards to play out”

The knee Perry is referring to, in regards to Askren, is the five-second flying knee knockout loss “Funky” suffered against Jorge Masvidal at UFC 239. Masvidal’s dismantling of Askren was the fastest knockout in UFC history. However, there have been rumors that Askren is gearing up for a fight against Demian Maia for his return. We’ll have to wait and see how things play out.

What do you think about Perry challenging Askren to fight next?
