Russian MMA fighter Sharaputdin Magomedov is currently under investigation by Dagestani authorities following a viral video of an altercation he had with another man in a mall.

While the video has only recently been posted online, Magomedov and authorities have both confirmed that the incident happened in March and is not a recent occurrence.

The video from a shopping mall security camera shows Magomedov standing on an escalator behind a couple. The 28-year-old can be seen stepping forward after the couple share a kiss, and the two men promptly square off once the escalator reaches the ground. The other individual involved throws a punch before the two start grappling and several mall patrons intervene to break them up.

Further footage from a camera watching the door to the mall shows Magomedov apparently waiting for the other individual exit. The Russian MMA fighter waits for the victim to come around the corner before dropping him with a right hand and stomping on his head.

Magomedov has stated that the disagreement began because he felt that the couple’s behavior was not appropriate for a public space. The 28-year-old also claimed that he and the victim spoke after the altercation and reached an understanding on the matter.

According to the report from Prosports.kz, the actions of both men qualified as a “violation of public order” under the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation. A public message from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Dagestan provided further clarification.

“Who and for what purpose three months later distributed the video if both sides came to reconciliation and had no mutual claims? On this face, an administrative offense case has been initiated, within the framework of which a legal assessment of the actions of both defendants will be given.”

“Bullet” began his MMA career in 2017 as a welterweight before moving to middleweight and most recently light heavyweight. He holds an undefeated record of 10-0 and has mostly competed for promotions in China and Russia.

Magomedov last fought in Brazil at Arena Global 17 earlier this year and earned a first-round stoppage, which was the ninth finish of his career.

Bo Nickal made a statement in his professional MMA debut with a walk-off knockout at iKON FC 3.

The three-time NCAA Division 1 National Champion wrestler is one of the most hyped MMA prospects in recent memory, but he didn’t even need to flash his wrestling skills to get his first pro win.

Facing fellow debutant John Noland, Nichols threw a high kick and then a left straight that brought Noland to his knees.

The Colorado-native landed a huge uppercut as Noland got to his feet, followed by two big hooks to floor the 36-year-old just over 30 seconds into the fight.

As Noland fell back, the former Penn State wrestler calmly walked away before jumping up on the cage to celebrate his victory.

The 26-year-old went 2-0 as an amateur in 2021 ahead of this pro debut. There were already a lot of eyes on him before this bout, and he’ll only have raised his profile higher with this impressive finish.

A former MMA fighter from Wisconsin has no regrets about making a career switch from training for fights to training bird dogs.

Mike Vaughn has been involved in martial arts for almost his entire life, starting out when he was just 6 years old. He and his father are both certified in Jeet Kune Do, and Vaughn is also a third-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. He had his first pro MMA bout in 2005.

In addition to competing, Vaughn owned an MMA gym in Madison, WI for 10 years but made the decision to step away from the sport in 2010 to focus on his new career. He attributes his experience in MMA to his success training bird dogs.

“Building a martial arts student and building a dog were kind of the same idea for me, of like, progressions of where you’re taking them. It just kind of came natural to me,” Vaughn told Inside Edition.

The former MMA fighter’s interest in dog training dates back to when he began working with his own dog Winnie when she was eight weeks old, although he was initially skeptical about the long-term prospects of training bird dogs as a career.

Winnie has been by Vaughn’s side for 11 years now, and she’s been a constant source of comfort and motivation throughout that time as he’s become a world-class bird dog trainer.

“Times where you’re, where you’re kind of like, unsure of yourself. Or uncertain of the future where you get that wall in front of you and are just kind of like, hey – I don’t know where I’m going. And then you look down, and you’ve got her looking at you,” Vaughn said.

Mike Vaughn made his pro MMA debut in 2005 with a win against Trent Cook. “The Volt” last competed in 2008 and went 2-3 overall in his career. His record includes fights against former UFC fighter Marcus Davis and current UFC middleweight Gerald Meerschaert.

What do you think of Mike Vaughn’s choice to move from MMA to training bird dogs?

A Vancouver-based MMA fighter recently chased down a suspect accused of fatally stabbing a man outside of the nightclub Gallery Vancouver.

Proceedings at the establishment were winding down at about 3 a.m. when a couple of groups started “getting very loud and aggressive” according to Paymon Zanjani, the head of security at the club.

Speaking to The Daily Hive, Zanjani claimed that staff from the club attempted to disarm the situation and get the groups to calm down. The parties involved were apparently a mix of people that had just exited the club and ones that had been denied entry earlier in the night.

One group outnumbered the other, resulting in a member of the smaller group drawing a knife that eventually found its way into the hands of the suspect. The 24-year-old is alleged to have stabbed a 19-year-old victim he was fighting with. The victim died of his injuries later in the night after being taken to the hospital.

While the club staff called the police and an ambulance, the suspect fled the scene on foot. Navid Zanganeh, a member of the club’s security team described by Zanjani as a “world champion wrestler and MMA fighter,” pursued the suspect and immobilized him until law enforcement arrived.

The suspect is still in custody and the incident remains an open investigation being examined by the Vancouver Police Department.

The 25-year-old Zanganeh is a native of Iran who represented their U-23 freestyle wrestling team won the world stage on three difference occasions. He emigrated to Canada after being arrested for appearing at an anti-government rally in Iran, which resulted in him losing his spot on the country’s wrestling team.

Zanganeh was rumored to make his MMA debut for the Canada-based Battlefield Fight League in October 2021, but the fight never materialized for unknown reasons.

Aleff Martins dropped his opponent with a head kick and followed up with punches to earn a first-round victory in the main event of Costa Combat 41 in Brazil.

Matched up with fellow Brazilian Kelvin Jacob, both men traded punches early on in the fight. Martins was clearly dictating the pace, but Jacob was swinging back with big punches even as he was backed up by his larger opponent.

A combination from Martins ending with a right hook forced Jacob to drop to his back, but Martins chose to back away and wait to meet Jacob in the center of the cage.

The southpaw Martins threw a 1-2 followed by a head kick that dropped Jacob once again. Martins quickly followed up with left hands until the referee was forced to step in.

Aleff Martins is now 3-0 after making his pro debut earlier this year, with all three of those pro bouts contested under the Costa Combat banner. The Brazilian fighter earned a unanimous decision in his February debut against Gabriel Udo before facing Lukas Oliveira in April. Martins finished Oliveira with ground and pound in the first round of their main event bout.

What do you think of Aleff Martins’ TKO victory at Costa Combat 41?
