NEW YORK, NY (September 1, 2010) – Shine Fight Promotions (Shine Fights) COO Jason Chambers, a veteran of both the MMA game and Hollywood, is a rare combination in the sports world. A man that has experienced success in both the sports and acting worlds, Chambers sports an impressive 18-5-2 record in the cage, where he faced well-known MMA veterans such as ultra-tough Japanese fighter Michihiro Omigawa and current UFC star Thiago Alves. He has also appeared on several television programs during his career, hosting the very popular History Channel series “Human Weapon.” With his combination of good looks and athletic talent, Chambers has garnered a reputation as a unique personality with an interesting story.

Born in Chicago, IL, Jason “Hollywood” Chambers, as he is known in the MMA world, is a former professional fighter with a record of 18-5. Perhaps best-known as the host of the hit History Channel Series “Human Weapon,” Jason traveled the globe to explore the history and techniques of various martial arts as part of the show. A diverse artist in every sense of the word, Jason is a certified Jeet Kune Do Concepts Instructor, and a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Jason’s career, though, has often blurred the lines between cage and stage. Jason has been involved in the entertainment field since 2002, when he began to study the craft of acting in Chicago at “Act One” studios, as well as improvisation at the world famous “Second City.” Chambers solidified his decision to pursue the entertainment field in 2003 by moving to New York to further study his craft, while continuing his BJJ training at Renzo Gracie’s academy. He quickly landed appearances in established television series such as “Guiding Light,” “All My Children,” “Can You Tell?” and most frequently on “As the World Turns.” Jason has done numerous commercials and has also been a guest star on “Days of Our Lives,” “The Middleman,” and “CSI: NY.” In addition to acting, Jason can be seen on G4’s “Attack of the Show,” where he gives his insights on upcoming MMA fights in their “MMA Chokehold” segment, and in FIGHT! Magazine, where he is a regular contributor. Jason continues to train in BJJ and MMA in his free time. His unique combination of in-the-cage and on-the-air experience will bring great insight to Shine Fight fans worldwide.

PROVIDENCE (Aug. 31, 2010) – History will be made Friday night, Sept. 17 when “First Blood” becomes the first sanctioned, professional Mixed Martial Arts show ever held in Rhode Island.

“First Blood,” presented by Jimmy Burchfield’s Classic Entertainment and Sports, Inc., (CES) will be held at the Twin River Event Center in Lincoln, RI. All fights feature three, 5-minute rounds.

The main event pits arguably New England’s hottest prospect, Providence lightweight Mike “The Beast” Campbell (8-2-0), against undefeated Magno Almeida (6-0), of Wakefield (MA). In an exciting match-up of contrasting styles, Campbell has five knockouts, while five of Almeida’s six opponents have tapped-put.

In the co-feature, Bridgewater (MA) heavyweight Lee Beane (7-1-0) takes on Parker Porter (3-1-0), while Wakefield (MA) welterweight Rick Hawn (8-0-0) faces an opponent to be determined.

“Fighting is fighting and we know what fans want – fast action, entertainment and competitive matches,” CES president Jimmy Burchfield said. “We’re taking the same grassroots promoting and marketing plan we’ve used so successfully for many years in boxing and taking it into MMA. I’ve been studying MMA for nearly three years in order to learn how to build the best team possible. Boxing plays a big part in MMA. Some athletic boxers want to try MMA, some powerful-punching strikers want to box. CES is now in the unique position to offer boxers and MMA fighters opportunities to cross over.

“Our goal is to develop MMA fighters and help bring them to the top of the mountain – UFC. We have a good relationship with UFC Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, Mark Ratner, from when he was Executive Director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission. We believe our first show has the potential to be the best show ever in New England in terms of showcasing New England talent. We will have some of the best in action on ‘First Blood.’ We’re thrilled to be having this great show at our home base in beautiful Twin River.”

Also scheduled to fight on “First Blood” are Cranston’s (RI) Luis “Rock Star” Felix (4-5-0) vs. Joe Dechaves (3-2-0); Woonsocket’s pro-debuting lightweight Justin Switzer vs. Cranston’s Eric Fams; Maine welterweight Glenn Reaves vs. pro-debuting Bill Burley; Whitman (MA) featherweight John Campbell in his pro debut vs. Kurt Calash, of Middleton (CT); and Somerville (MA) lightweight Jimmy “Jimbo Slice” Davidson in his first fight vs. John Sienna (0-1-1).

Also on the card against opponents to be determined are undefeated Framingham (MA) light heavyweight Saul “The Spider” Almeida (7-0-0), Ludlow (MA) lightweight Alexandre “Vaca” Moreno (10-2-0), East Greenwich (RI) and Rhode Island MMA pioneer Mat Santos, along with welterweights Lionel Young (2-4-0), Antwann Penn and Mark Skeltcher. All fights and fighters are subject to change.

Tickets for “First Blood,” priced at $50.00, $75.00, $125.00, $150.00 and $200.00 (front row) are available to purchase by calling CES (401.724.2253/2254), going online at www.cesboxing.com or www.twinriver.com, at Twin River’s Players Club booth at Twin River, or any TicketMaster location.

Contact CES (401.724.2253/2254/www.cesboxing.com) or the Twin River Event Center (877.82.RIVER/ www.twinriver.com) for more information. Doors open at 6:00PM/ET, first bout at 7:30 PM/ET.

(Twin River has waived its 18+ rule for “First Blood.” Anybody under the age of 18 must be accompanied at all times by an adult and they must enter through the West entrance.)

Press Conference Quotes

Mike Campbell: “To be part of the first MMA show in Rhode Island, I’m so excited to be part of it. I have goose-bumps right now….honestly. I’m gonna bring it; I never give boring shows. I promise you’re going to see fireworks. We bleed and sweat together and it’s my honor to fighting on this card with these fighters. It’s going to be war.”

Mat Santos: “I was on the very first card in Rhode Island. They called it Vale Tudo. There wasn’t a law against it but it was legal, 11 years ago. I was in the Army in 1993 when I saw my first MMA fight. It looked like fun and that’s why it went from a hobby to my lifeblood. I train six days a week, every week, whether I have a fight or not. I haven’t fought in four years, not necessarily because of lack of trying. This is the fifth fight set-up for me but opponents pulled out. Anybody that hits the ground against me, I’ll finish them. I’m 100-percent confident that I will submit him. There’s nobody out there I don’t have an answer for. This isn’t going to be a boring Jiu-Jitsu fight. If I can’t take him down, I’ll beat him on my feet. The past 11 years I’ve fought all over in rings, cages and even open mats, but now I’m finally fighting at home.”

Parker Porter: “I’m glad to be here. It’ll be my closest fight to home being from Southington, Connecticut. The last guy to beat Lee is in the UFC; the last guy to beat me is in the UFC. I’m looking forward to sizing us up. I promise you I’m going to bring it.”

Saul Almeida: I haven’t fought in a while. I just came back from training two months in California with some of the best MMA fighters in the world like Anderson Silva. It’s going to be a really entertaining fight. You won’t want to miss it.”

Lionel Young: “I’m still a baby at this – I’ve only been doing it for a year. This is my biggest fight. I promise to go into the cage and give every ounce in my body.”

Luis Felix: I’m excited to be fighting here in my backyard. It’s something I’ve looked forward to ever since I got into MMA. September 17th I’ll be here to fight. I don’t go into any fight hating my opponent. This is a sport and I love to do it. After the fight we can be friends. I’m willing to put everything on the line. This is my ultimate challenge. I look forward to putting on a good show.”

Joe Dechaves: “It’s an awesome time – Rhode Island history – to be fighting on this card. Felix is a good fighter. I’ve seen some of his fights. I’ve been training hard and I’ll be ready September 17th. It’s a special fight for me. I’m dedicating it to my father who died in July, on my wedding day, so this fight means more to be than anything.”

Also coming off a big KO win is South Korea’s Sang Soo Lee (14-9), who will lock horns with California’s Roy Boughton (4-0), an undefeated submission specialist. “HEROES” will also showcase two anticipated world title fights, as both the featherweight and bantamweight belts will be up for grabs.

Falaniko Vitale (27-9, fifteen submissions) is one of the most respected Hawaiian combatants fighting today. An experienced athlete who recently celebrated ten years as a professional fighter, Vitale proudly represents the 808 Fight Factory, one of the toughest fight gyms on the Islands, and has fought for some of the most well-known promotions in the world. Fans of King of the Cage, Rage in the Cage, SuperBrawl, Icon Sport, the IFL, StrikeForce, and the UFC have all seen his skill set exhibited. In his most recent bout, he defended his coveted X-1 strap against former UFC competitor Kalib Starnes, finishing his controversial opponent via submission in the process. Niko, as he is known, has taken on top names in the sport, including “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler, former StrikeForce Middleweight title challenger Jason “Mayhem” Miller, MMA pioneer Jeremy Horn, StrikeForce/UFC veteran Trevor Prangley, and UFC fighter Frank Trigg. He has beaten notable fighters such as UFC vet Aaron Riley, former UFC Middleweight Champion Dave Menne, UFC middleweight contender Yushin Okami, and the aforementioned Lindland.

Kala “Kolohe” Hose (7-3, seven KO/TKOs) is known for his devastating knockout power, and has garnered a reputation as one of the toughest Island fighters today. He claimed the ICON Middleweight title in August of 2008 with an exciting TKO victory over current UFC fighter Phil Baroni that was lauded by Island fight fans for its great action. Also a veteran of Superbrawl and EliteXC, Hose will look to add the X-1 Middleweight belt to his list of accomplishments. During his career, he’s faced UFC veterans such as Baroni, “Mayhem” Miller, and Reese Andy. He will face what is probably the toughest opponent of his career in Vitale.

In addition, the second round of the heralded X-1 World Light Heavyweight tourney will commence at this event, as former EliteXC headliner and Hawaii native Poai Suganuma (10-3) will match up with “The Dancing Russian” Vitaly Shemetov (7-7), who brutalized respected veteran Shungo Oyama in the first round of the tournament en route to a KO victory. Suganuma, for his part, defeated Greg Schmitt via unanimous decision on his way to advancing. The other semifinal matchup will feature Gracie-trained submission specialist Roy Boughton (4-0, four submissions), who tapped out Adam Akau with a first round guillotine choke to garner a place in the second round of the tournament, as he faces extremely tough South Korean SpiritMC veteran Sang Soo Lee (14-9). Lee knocked out Daniel Madrid with a beautiful right hand in order to move on in the tourney. Also featured will be a 145 lb. World Championship bout between Ricky Wallace and four-time Strikeforce veteran Alvin Cacdac, as well as a 135 lb. World Championship fight between Bryson Hanson and Russell Doane.

“I am very excited about this incredible card. Having two great Island fighters like Niko and Kolohe fight for the belt, along with the second round of the tournament, and throwing in two other title matches…what a card!” exclaimed Mike Miller, Owner/Promoter of X-1 World Events. “It’s going to be an amazing night of fights.”

CHICAGO, Ill. (August 30, 2010) —Bellator Fighting Championships today announced the signing of undefeated MMA prospect Chris “The Assassin” Lozano to its already impressive roster.

Sporting an impressive undefeated record of 5-0, Lozano has dominated all of his fights to date, beating all five opponents he has faced by TKO or KO, with four of the five stoppages coming in the very first round. In his most recent outing, Lozano took out well rounded Pride/UFC veteran Jason Dent via fourth round TKO in an extremely impressive showing.

Growing up in Cleveland, Lozano struggled to find positive sports programs before eventually turning to MMA for his competitive release. Currently training out Strong Style Gym in Ohio, Lozano began boxing and Tae Kwon Do when he was a child. In middle school, Lozano turned to wrestling where he quickly made the Ohio National team for his age group and weight class before ultimately setting his sites on mixed martial arts.

“Chris Lozano brings proven knockout power to the welterweight division.” said Bellator Chairman and CEO Bjorn Rebney. “He is a big welterweight that has tremendous potential to accomplish great things in Bellator at 170 lbs.”

Lozano is admittedly anxious to show what he is capable of on the biggest platform of his fast-rising career.

“Fighting for an organization like Bellator Fighting Championship is a dream come true,” said Lozano. “To finally get a chance to compete amongst the best in the world is something I have spent my entire life focusing on and dreaming of.”

The Urban Conflict Championship promotion will broadcast their “UCC 3: Renegades” event live from www.uccfights.com on Sept. 10 from Jersey City’s National Guard Armory.

Press Release

August 31, 2010, Jersey City, NJ – On September 10, 2010, Jersey City’s National Guard Armory will set stage to the next major Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) event to take place directly outside of New York City– “UCC 3: RENEGADES.” This is the third event of the Tri-State area’s premiere professional fight series: Urban Conflict Championship (UCC).

The event will be produced and broadcast live from WWW.UCCFIGHTS.COM with coverage beginning at 8:00pm EST on September 10, 2010. The live web broadcast will be powered by Global Mobile Video, who specializes in cutting edge technology for mobile web broadcasting.

Headlining the fight card will be a featherweight matchup between Ryan “Are You Ready?” Roberts (13-9) who fought for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in early 2008, against Team BombSquad’s Anthony Leone (8-1) who has World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) experience, and is coming off the only loss of his career.

The “UCC 3: RENEGADES” Fight Card will feature 9+ professional bouts including:
Featherweight 145 lbs – Ryan Roberts (13-9) v. Anthony Leone (8-1)
Welterweight 170 lbs – Luiz Azeredo (10-7) v. Brandon Adamson (10-8)
Welterweight 170 lbs – Kevin Horowitz (2-0) v. Ryan Quinn (3-2)
Featherweight 145 lbs – Felipe Arantes (4-2) v. Jason McLean (5-2)

UCC 3: RENEGADES will be the largest professional MMA event to take place directly outside New York City, where the sport of MMA continues to stir political controversy. In June of this year Bill No. S2165B, designed to legalize MMA events in the state of New York, was approved in the State Senate by a vote of 32-26. The bill currently remains under discussion in the Ways and Means Committee before it will go to the Assembly floor for a general vote. Governor David A. Paterson has publically supported the legalization of MMA as part of his 2010-2011 Executive Budget Plan. In the event that the bill passes, New York would join the majority as the 45th state to legalize the sport of MMA.

Urban Conflict Championship debuted their first event in March of this year, “UCC 1: MERCILESS,” and has continued to distinguish itself as the premiere ALL PROFESSIONAL MMA fight league in the Tri-State area. The league’s recent success has been powered by an arsenal of exciting matchups, featuring championship caliber fighters such as David Branch, Dante Rivera, John Troyer, Josh Rave, and Alexandre Moreno. The UCC has also proved itself as an impressive breeding ground for first-time professional fighters and upcoming talent. The UCC 1: MERCILESS fight card featured 9 bouts, in a pulse-pounding atmosphere that saw only one fight end in the judge’s decision. The action returned on May 14, 2010, as UCC 2: STRIKEDOWN packed The National Guard Armory of Jersey City with over 2,500 people for another exciting night of MMA fights. TheGarv.com was quoted describing the fighters from UCC 2: STRIKEDOWN, “from the opening bell to the last moments of the main event,” as nothing short of gladiators. Highlights from the Urban Conflict Championship fight series have been re-aired on national television by HDNet Fight’s Inside MMA.

HD Net Fights, Untamed Industries, Twisted Tea, Muscle Maker Grill, Smash Fight Wear, BuddhaSport.com, and the Hoboken International Film Festival will sponsor the event. Film production will be managed by Long Shot Productions LLC.

Fight teams to be featured: AMA Fight Club, American Top Team, Disorderly Conduct, Fight Factory (PA), Gold Team Fighters, LA Boxing, North Jersey MMA, Paul Carnacella BJJ, Rhino Fight Team, Team BombSquad, Team Iron Horse, Team Miletich.

VISIT WWW.UCCFIGHTS.COM TO PRE PURCHASE TICKETS FOR THIS EVENT OR TO VIEW THE LIVE WEB BROADCAST OF THE ENTIRE FIGHTCARD. Coverage will begin at 8:00 PM EST on September 10, 2010. Tickets will also be sold at the door.

The Official Weigh In for UCC 3: RENEGADES will also be broadcast LIVE from WWW.UCCFIGHTS.COM with coverage beginning at 8:00PM EST on September 9, 2010. The Official Weigh In will be held at Muscle Maker Grill, 286 Washington Street, Plaza 4A, Jersey City, NJ 07302.
