Kotetsu Boku defeated Brazilian contender Zorobabel Moreira at ONE FC: RISE OF KINGS in October 2012 to earn the inaugural ONE FC Lightweight World Championship title belt while Aoki earned his shot at the title following a devastating submission victory over Arnaud Lepont.

NBC SPORTS NETWORK TO TELECAST MULTIPLE EVENTS ANNUALLY BEGINNING WITH WORLD SERIES OF FIGHTING 2 LIVE SATURDAY, MARCH 23

Press Release – LAS VEGAS, Nev. (Feb. 4, 2013) – World Series of Fighting (WSOF) and NBC Sports Network have entered into a three-year partnership to deliver live, world championship Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fight programming, beginning with the promotion’s second event, “WSOF 2,” live Saturday, March 23 at 10 p.m. ET at Revel Resorts & Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The agreement calls for a minimum of six live events annually on the national television platform that reaches over 80 million homes. Additionally, later this year, NBCSports.com will live stream World Series of Fighting events via TV Everywhere.

“We are thrilled to call NBC Sports Network the home of World Series of Fighting,” said World Series of Fighting President and six-time world kickboxing champion, Ray Sefo. “This partnership will allow us to build the World Series of Fighting brand of world-class MMA competition before a dedicated national audience of passionate sports fans and place our athletes on the big stage that they deserve.”

The inaugural World Series of Fighting 1 aired live on NBC Sports Network on Nov. 3, 2012.

Bellator MMA will add to the rich fight history The Androscoggin Bank Colisee boasts, including Muhammad Ali’s famous knockout over Sonny Liston in 1965 that was eventually immortalized as of the most iconic images in sports. In 2012 the venue played host to four MMA events attended by some 12,000 fight fans of regional promotion New England Fights (“NEF”). NEF owners, Massachusetts attorney Nick DiSalvo and Maine state representative Matt Peterson will work closely with Bellator on the event.

“For the sport of MMA to reach the level it has in Maine, where you now have one of the top promotions in the world coming in to run an event, that’s just a real testament to how far the sport has come here in Maine,” stated Peterson. Peterson sponsored the legislation legalizing MMA in the state, and, along with business partner DiSalvo, has pioneered the movement to mainstream the sport in Maine.

With victories over Pete Spratt, Chris Lytle and Paul Kelly, Bangor native Marcus Davis has established a long and distinguished resume during his MMA career, and will make his Bellator debut on March 21st in front of a huge Maine crowd live on Spike.com. Known as “The Irish Hand Grenade” Davis is well aware of what this opportunity means for his career.

“Everyone knows what I bring to the cage, and nothing is going to change for this tournament,” Marshall said. “My win over Kala Hose in November was just the beginning for what I’m going to do with Bellator. I’m coming for that $100,000 prize and a shot at the title.”

Long Beach native and knockout artist Brett “Fudoshin” Cooper enters the Bellator MMA Middleweight Tournament riding a four fight win streak and has his sights set on taking down French native Norman Paraisy in quarterfinal action.

The Tournament rounds out with two undefeated middleweights as the Mikkel Parlo battles Russia born Sultan Aliev. A true finisher, Parlo has collected stoppage wins in eight of his nine professional fights and will be looking to create fireworks on February 14th.

We can confirm personnel changes were made this week in relation to the SFS. The Score will continue to assess the future of the SFS on an ongoing basis.

To clarify, Rogers Media plays no part in the operations of The Score Television Network (The Score). The Score is currently operating in trust until the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission approves its acquisition by Rogers Media. All decisions affecting the network and SFS are made by the management and trustee of The Score.
