The defeat marks Choi’s third in a row, and his second by way of a TKO. Cub Swanson handed Choi his first UFC loss at UFC 206 in December of 2016 via decision. Just over a year later, Jeremy Stephens also defeated Choi, finishing him in the second round of their UFC Fight Night main event in St. Louis. Now, with his loss to Jourdain, Choi is riding a three-fight losing streak, and will likely be sidelined for quite some time with his broken forearm.

It looks like any potential title shot for “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung will have to wait for a while.

Jung comes off a big TKO win over Frankie Edgar in the main event of UFC Busan earlier this morning (Sat. December 21, 2019) in South Korea. Jung dominated Edgar for a first-round TKO win, calling out UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski afterward. However, speaking to Korean media after the fight, Jung revealed he has been dealing with an eye injury for some time now.

“The Korean Zombie” said he has been dealing with a condition in which he has been seeing double. He will require surgery to repair the issue. (H/T MMA Fighting)

“Those that follow me on Instagram might know, but currently I have an eye condition that makes me see double,” Jung said. “Right now, everyone in this room, I’m seeing double of everything. I have double vision. It’s not a huge, major surgery, but is still gonna take about a couple, three months to recover.”

Jung noted that the surgery is his “priority” at the moment, so it sounds like he’s content to wait on a title shot a bit longer in order to repair his eye condition.

Things didn’t go Frankie Edgar’s way earlier this morning (Sat. December 21, 2019) at UFC Busan.

Edgar stepped in on short-notice to main event opposite “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung. However, right off the bat, Jung dominated, stunning Edgar with his power, pouncing on him on the ground, flattening him out, and getting in some good ground-and-pound.

After Edgar got to his feet, he was once again planted by Jung’s big power, forcing the referee to step in and call off the bout. Now, hours later, Edgar has taken to Twitter to release a statement on his loss. Here’s what he had to say:

“Well not what I had planned coming out here to South Korea, but win like a man and lose like one too. Hats off to the @KoreanZombie on a great performance. I think it may be time to cut this damn hair. Thank you to my family, team, and fans for the love and support.”

Edgar planned to cut down to 135 pounds before taking his fight with Jung at featherweight. It will be interesting to see if he follows through with those plans. As for Jung, after his big win over Edgar, he now has his eyes set on a title fight with newly-crowned champion Alexander Volkanovski.

What did you make of Edgar’s performance against Jung in Busan?
