The light heavyweight matchup between Volkan Oezdemir and Ilir Latifi has once again been relocated.

Initially, the fight was scheduled to go down at UFC Stockholm back in June. However, Latifi was forced to pull from the contest due to a back injury. The fight was then rescheduled for UFC Newark on August 3. That card will be headlined by Colby Covington vs. Robbie Lawler.

However, according to a report from ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, the bout between Oezdemir and Latifi is being moved yet again. Now, it will take place at UFC Uruguay from the Antel Arena in Montevideo, Uruguay on August 10. In the main event, UFC women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko will defend her title against Liz Carmouche:

Okamoto noted that the relocation was due to visa issues. However, it was not specified if it was either Latifi or Oezdemir who had the difficulty. Check out the updated UFC Uruguay card below.

The official UFC Uruguay poster has been released. All the action will go down from the Antel Arena in Montevideo, Uruguay on August 10.

In the main event of the night, UFC women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko will defend her title against Liz Carmouche. The fight will be a rematch between the pair from a fight they had prior to joining the UFC. Carmouche took the victory due to a doctor’s stoppage, handing Shevchenko her first career loss at the time.

Also, Mike Perry returns to welterweight action when he takes on Vicente Luque in the co-main event. The Las Vegas-based promotion has compiled a great card for their trip to Montevideo. Check out the official UFC Uruguay poster, along with the full card, here below:

Mike Perry’s Octagon return is set. MMA Fighting has confirmed an initial report from MMA Uncensored, revealing that Perry will be taking on Vicente Luque in the co-headliner of UFC Uruguay on August 10.

Perry has dropped three of his last five fights. In his latest outing, Perry defeated Alex Oliveira via unanimous decision at UFC Florida in April. “Platinum” is looking to put together his first win streak under the UFC banner since 2017.

As for Luque, he is riding high at the moment on a five-fight win streak. Each of those victories has come by way of finish. Both Luque and Perry are proven finishers, so this has the potential to steal the show come fight night in Montevideo.

Currently, the event is headlined by a flyweight title bout between defending champion Valentina Shevchenko and Liz Carmouche. We’ll keep you updated as more fights are announced for the card.
