Cross over athlete Bobby Lashley is confirmed to fight in Bellator 162! He is currently the TNA World Champion and is looking to make a name for himself in the world of Bellator and mixed martial arts as well. He will now get a chance to do exactly that when he returns to the cage for his latest MMA round. Bellator has officially confirmed that the wrestling world champion will be part of the Bellaotor 162 which will occur on October 21st in Memphis, Tennessee.

However, the mystery now is not whether or not Lashley will take part in Bellator 162, but rather – who is opponent is going to be?

Coming to his form, immaculate is the appropriate word to describe his record in the Bellator so far. The TNA World Champion has fought just five times thus far in his Bellator campaign and he has emerged victorious in all five of his match ups. Just by his form so far and the fashion in which he was won his fights, it is safe to say that he has established himself as a fighter to certainly reckon with and anyone that will have to take him on car rest assured that they will have a challenge on their hands.

Lashley’s most recent (Bellator) fight was back in Bellator 145 and this was nearly a year ago in November of 2015 when he took on James Thompson who is revered as a PRIDE FC seasoned veteran. Not many through that Lashley would come through as the winner, but he was actually able to beat James Thompson fair and square by a technical knock out right in the very first round just a mere 54 seconds into the fight. Jaws dropped everywhere and it was clear that Lashley is no joke and that he is not afraid on anybody.

Apart from the confirmation that Lashley will be featuring in Bellator 162 which will happen on October 21st in Memphis, Tennessee, the only other fight that has been officially confirmed is that of Kendall Grove Vs. Alexander Shlemenko. Grove has not fought for a while and will be making his return after having taken some time off in his home state of Maui. If Grove is able to defeat Shlemenko despite his absence from the sport for a substantial period then it is expected (but not official) that Grove could be handed a title shot against current champion Rafael Carvalho.

In other mixed martial arts news, we are pleased to announce that it is official that Ricardo Lamas will take on Charles Oliveira in UFC fight night 98 which will take place in Mexico. Lamas at one point was the featherweight title champion will be hoping to get another win under his belt when he appears in the venue which is Mexico City arena, Mexico City, in Mexico.

Lamas was originally drafted to take on Penn in UFC fight night 97, but Penn had to pull out due to injury.

Kendall Grove is apparently just too busy living his life and just doing him to be worried about potential title shots that may come his way in the future. In all fairness, Maui is just the kind of place where life is beautiful and it is nearly impossible not to enjoy life. Yes! Kendall Grove did spend a couple of years down in Las Vegas training hard and focused on his fighting career, but since he moved back to Maui which is the state in which he was born and raised things have changed in terms of his attitude and outlook towards life.

Grove was quoted as having said. “I am living the dream here in Hawaii and trying to prolong this dream as long as I can”. In fact, in a recent interview with MMA Junkie radio, Grove opened up about how his experience in Bellator and expressed how bitter it was by saying that it chewed him up and spat him out. He has since moved back to Maui, has had kids of his own, is focusing on being there for his family, and that is making him reevaluate his priorities. He said that the recent changed in life has “chopped up his life and he loves it”.

This all seems fine and reasonable, except for the fact that Grove will be back in action in the octagon next week! The 33 year old is set to make his return for the first time since February when he fought last and he is scheduled to take on former middle weight title holder Alexander Shlemenko.

Grove has a professional record of 23 wins and 15 losses in MMA and 4 wins and 2 losses in Bellator. On the other hand, Alexander Shlemenko has 53 wins and 9 losses in MMA and 11 wins and 3 losses in Bellator. Not only is he returning to the octagon after a hiatus, but Grove’s fight will be the headliner for the night come Bellator 162. The main card will be live telecasted on Spike and will be the very next program after prelims on MMA junkie.

Despite Grove’s bitter statements towards his time at the Bellator and saying that it chewed him up and spat him out, he actually enjoyed pretty solid form before he went on his getaway to Maui. In fact, he won three of his last four fights and has also won back to back fights.

Some fans believe that if Grove was to emerge victorious against Shlemenko then he would be well deserving of a title shot and he may actually even get one against current reigning champion Rafael Carvalho.

However, Grove really does not seem to be bothered about whether or not he will get a shot at the title, because all he can do right now is focus on the fight at hand and then take things as they come.

Why the extreme measure? well, like other fighters, Nurmagomedov is clearly upset by how Conor McGregor seems to be able to receive a title fight out of nowhere, while other fighters have to win, and win, and win some more and work and train hard before they can even dream of a title shot.

Come UFC 205, Nurmagomedov will be coming up face to face against his opponent Michael Johnson in the octagon, but once this is fight is done with – will we ever see Nurmagomedov in the UFC again? We can only wait and watch how it all plays out. The fight that is causing the internal discontent amongst Nurmagomedov and several other fighters is also on the card on UFC fight night 205 which is featuring Conor McGregor who takes on Eddie Alvarez and if Alvarez is beaten then he will lose his lightweight championship title to Conor “The Notorious” McGregor.

We will tell you who certainly does not have any issues with Conor McGregor vs. Eddie Alvarez? – the fans! While we cannot conclusively say that Conor McGregor is treated better than other fighters for no apparent reason, we must admit that commercially speaking, Conor McGregor brings in the big money in terms of television ratings and sold out tickets simply because Conor McGregor is Conor McGregor. At the end of the day, the UFC is a business and so it is understandable how or why they would answer the pleas of the viewers and put out fighters such as Conor McGregor and Rhonda Rousey who are very well known to people who aren’t even ardent fans of the UFC or the sport itself.

Furthermore, it can be argues that Conor McGregor also deserves this title shot. It was back in March that he was already getting a shot at becoming lightweight champion, but his opponent and then lightweight champion had to Rafael dos Anjos had to pull out of the fight after he suffered an injury just days prior to the when the fight was supposed to occur.

Eventually, Anjos recovered and had to fight Eddie Alvarez and put the championship at stake. Alvarez got the better of Anjos and was able to beat him in just one quick round. Finally, after having his chance taken away in March, come November, Conor McGregor will get another chance at the lightweight title when he takes on Alvarez in UFC’s New York Debut.

If McGregor emerges victorious, he will be the first ever UFC fighter to hold championship titles in two separate weight divisions at the same time.

Conor McGregor made history by becoming the first even Irishman to become a UFC championship title holder in 2015 when he beat Jose Aldo in just a mere 13 seconds, and now, he has the opportunity to be the first even fighter in the history of the UFC to hold championship titles in two weight divisions simultaneously. The event is set to unfold on November 12th and experts are expecting record television ratings when the fight goes live on telecast.

Conor McGregor who has now earned himself the nick name or alias – The Notorious, had the chance to achieve this magnificent feat of holding titles from two different weight divisions at the same time when he was set to take on Rafael dos Anjos in March in a featherweight title fight, but the golden opportunity was snatched away from right underneath his nose as Anjos had to pull out of the fight due to an unforeseen injury which he picked up just days before the fight. Eventually, Anjos recovered and faced none other than Eddie Alvarez in a title fight and ended up being beaten by Eddie Alvarez in a clear cut manner.

Alvarez had won two edge split decisions prior to taking on Anjos against Anthony Pettis and Gilbert Melendez after he had lost a debut fight. The two wins gave the veteran lightweight his much deserved title fight and he took the chance with both arms by conclusively beating Anjos right in the very first round and walking away a champion from Las Vegas.

This is the first time since becoming champion since Eddie Alvarez has had to put his title on the line, and it is going to be against none other than Conor “The Notorious” McGregor who not only has the title to fight for, but also the fact that he could leave his name in the history books forever as the first fighter to have held titles or championships in two different weight divisions at the same time. Furthermore, come UFC 205, history will be made irrespective of what happens in the fight as this is the first time the UFC is being hosted in New York.

Leading up to the fight, Alvarez has looked more than just confident, and some may even say he has looked cocky. Alvarez seems convinced that Conor McGregor will not be a threat to his championship and also commented saying that Conor McGregor would not be getting his hands on the “big boy belt”.

However, despite all his enthusiasm, outspokenness, and sheer confidence, the book makers do not seem to be giving Alvarez much of a chance, and this is simply because his opponent is none other than Conor McGregor.

Alvarez is going at the odds of 13 / 10 and is the underdog. On the other hand, the bookmakers have McGregor at 5 / 8.

It has been weeks since Legacy FC 61 was announced much to the excitement of fans all over the globe, but now the excitement has reached a whole new level because the fight card which is filling up quickly has not just one, but two title fights.

Furthermore, the Mackenzie Dern who is highly touted has finally found herself an opponent and will be in action come fight night which people simply cannot seem to wait for.

Among the titles that will go up for grabs is the bantamweight championship title which is currently being held by Steven Peterson. Peterson has a record of 14 wins and 4 losses and will be taking on none other than Mark De La Rosa who has a perfect record of 7 fights, 7 wins and zero losses! The Steven Peterson vs. Mark De La Rosa fight will be the main event and highlight of the night, but it is by no means the only attraction. The other championship title which can be claimed on Legacy FC 61 is the featherweight championship title, the current holder of which is Kevin Aguilar and his opponent is no stranger to the featherweight title as he has been crowned with it in the past – yes we are talking about Damon Jackson. Coming to their fight records, Kevin Aguilar holds an impressive record of eleven wins and just one loss, while on the other hand Damon Jackson has nine wins to his name, one draw \ tie and one loss.

The event is scheduled to occur on October 14th and the venue is the Bomb Factory in Dallas. The fight card will be telecasted live on AXS TV.

The rest of the fight card is no slouch either, there are more illustrious fighters taking stage including the likes of Rashad Coulter who takes on Jeremy Hardy, Desmond Hill who faces Abdul Razak Alhassan in the welterweight division, Josh Gibson who will face off against Alex Munoz is the lightweight category, Jason Preston will be matched against Michael Saunders in the heavyweight category, and there will also be appearances made by heavyweight fighter Alonzo Menifield and bantamweight fighter Miles John whose opponents are yet to be ascertained and declared.

Overall, there is no question of doubt that this will be one epic fight night filled with action, knockouts, technical skills and world class grappling. This is certainly a must watch for any fan and also provides a great choice of bets for punters who will be eager to cash in on their predictions.

Talking about grappling, Mackenzie Dern a female fighter who is one of the best, most technical grapplers the sport has seen will be showcased and in just her second Legacy FC appearance after she clinched an impressive unanimous decision victory over Kenia Rosas who herself is a highly reputed fighter in the sport.

Sonnen has confessed to and been open about his prior PED use after he tested positive for a banned substance two years ago. Post the test results, Sonned retired, but now he has come back from retirement by signing for UFC’s single biggest competitor – Bellator.

Sonnen, furthermore, has announced that he will is going to re enter the USADA drug – testing pool. When he did announce this, many fans thought that Sonnen was making a return to the UFC until they found out just last week that his career was now headed to Bellator and not the UFC.

Off the bat, it might seem like a fighter with a history of drug use would choose Bellator because maybe the drug policies were not as stringent, however, Sonnen himself addressed such speculation and confirmed that he would have to return all of his fight purse and pay an additional fine of $500,000 if he tested positive for any banned substances.

The UFC’s drug testing is carried out by the USADA, but Bellator depends on the state athletic commission for its drug testing.
